Reviews of The HEAG Pain Management Center, P.A.,
"Personally, Doctor and Staff are Very pleasant and professional. It's very hard to receive treatment for pain that people cannot see. I do not understand why there are reviews from 5 and 6 years ago. I have always been treated with kindness and professional care."
"I want to say proudly I've been with heag since the summer of 2017 and im still happy since the day I became a patient. Dr Dakwa, his Np and staff are sweet people. They follow all safety protocol with covid-19. I could never be at another pain clinic. They help me with my polyarticular idiopathic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis very well. Im proud to say i have enjoyment of life physically now! If your looking for a wonderful pain clinic heag is where you need to be. They have several locations when others do not."
"Terrible place. I was in horrible pain and yet made to wait just initially for an hour in their hard seats in the waiting area. After 45 mins i went to my car to grab Advil. While heading back in, I was approached by one of their long standing patients who literally BEGGED me to give them my pain medication! That I didn't have but NEVER would've given had I of had it! Already there was a bad taste in my mouth from that. But then, while back in the FULL (to capacity) waiting area waiting even longer, one woman came in who was halfway in her seat/ halfway out, literally falling asleep in between her sentences. It was to the point that her own husband was embarrassed and BEGGING her to stop and sit up straight! When staff noticed, they asked her what was wrong with her and she replied, "I'm just sooo tired." They let her stay and be seen. And..she walked out (only a half hour later) with more prescriptions and seemed happy, even a little more awake. But here most of us were in visible pain, so uncomfortable that breathing was hard. ..and we were questioned relentlessly like addicts! I went through about 11 tests of their choosing and spent 9 hours there! No exaggeration! All of this to be scolded for the medications that I have been on -for years -that work very well for me ..I just happened to of been displaced due my doctor of years getting very sick and out on medical leave. I had to find someone in a pinch. But they were so bad about sending my records to my referring doctor that his group grew seriously frustrated and decided to continue my care through another MD at their office. HEAG did NOT ever send the whole record, It came in pieces over weeks. And still. ..never all of the record. Even 2 years on!! Also, they weren't able to justify some of their tests they forced me to have either. Not To my medical group OR to my insurance. Some of those tests they TRIED to charge ME for - because insurance didn't cover the tests they CHOSE. They know which ones are covered. I never paid them. And I'll fight it forever. The words of my referring group were, "We are so sorry that you had to endure all of that! I don't even know how he's still able to work in the field. Obviously he cares little for his patients. Rest assured this will never happen to one of our patients again." They even canceled other patients appts who had been referred to HEAG by my then doctors office. Luckily the doctors within the group where my doctor went on medical leave at kept great records so they could easily see the kind of patient I had been for 11 years. They treated me like a patient in pain. ..not someone who had to prove myself at every single turn. Not some addict that needed to prove I wasn't. This experience was absolutely traumatizing for me. I dont know how they're still there with the reviews I've read, those I've heard from patients and other doctors alike. I'm shocked. ..but at the same time, I'm not. Healthcare in the USA has seriously gone downhill ESPECIALLY where pain management is concerned. Sad state we're in here. Avoid this place though! There ARE better ones!"
"If i could give them a zero i would. The front desk staff are pleasant and try their best to help . Let me be specific. Don’t go to this place unless you like sitting for about six hours every appointment . ( honestly no exhaderation ) The doctor never explains anything . If you complain about anything he does nothing . He will not send you for x Ray or MRIs . His nurses are trash as well . All their doing is helping the doctors / NPs beat the system . Seems like their only trying to cover their mistakes from the complaints with the medical board ( seven or more of them ) . Not only that but you can have good insurance or Medicaid they WILL find a way to bill you for SOMETHING . Marilyn - NP She’s VERY unprofessional . If you are a drug addict go here . If you are really chronically ill then chose some where else . This place does not work for patients they work for money. They will grill you and make you feel like you did something wrong . This has left a bad taste in my mouth ."
"Disorganized, long wait times and they are way too over cautious. They are more interested in protecting their own arses than the care of a patient. Basically, you are treated as a drug addict unless you can prove otherwise. The testing is extensive, some without merit, including a breathalyzer test. I've never been subject to this kind of testing and waste of time before. They test for kratom so if you're using it responsibly for pain management, (yes, it is still legal) you'll be scolded, talked down to, and asked to attend drug counseling. yikes. I ran like hell."
