Reviews of Carrboro Community Health Center
"From 2022: At Piedmont Health, the Board should do much more for patients and healthcare workers, like longer appointments, paying people to read medical literature outside appointments, and having an electronic health record that's compatible with Epic, which both UNC and Duke use. When I tried to transfer my records, it was unclear which they had already transferred and which they hadn't. The medical records person who I interacted with in 2022 talked so fast I couldn't understand. It was a very confusing conversation. I recommend Verlissa for social work. I had a bad experience with one person in Pharmacy. When I came in for my prescription, and head injury, and asked for ice, the young, blonde woman asked me to wait, but went on to socialize, didn't get back to me, and then left for the day, so I waited 30 minutes instead of going to a nearby store for ice and ibuprofen. Then, SHAC opened, I was able to attend the SHAC clinic for ice and exam, and they diagnosed the traumatic brain injury thankfully. In the evening, SHAC medical students (UNC) do their clinic training with low income patients here. I've been treated by some compassionate folks, although I also experienced not being believed, and my physical symptoms were quickly interpreted as psychological. Half a year later I was correctly diagnosed."
"These people will try to scam you. They tried to hit me with a $200 undiscussed fee. Then, when I refused the service and walked out, they charged me $25 for "missing my appointment." They're also rude and unprofessional. Don't let these people anywhere near your mouth!"
"Truly the WORST experience of my life with any dental/medical provider. The so rude and they treated the patient so bad the clinic so dirty The never answer the phone"
"Truly the WORST experience of my life with any dental/medical provider. Starting off with being nearly impossible to get someone to answer your phone call to schedule a visit, once I arrived and was seated in a chair for the first time, the dental hygienist ignored me for over 6 minutes while chit chatting with a coworker in the room and doing a Continuing Education module on the computer. Once I finally interrupted and asked to be addressed and get the visit started, they both rolled their eyes. I got my cleaning done and that was that. 1.5 years later, after COVID and a pregnancy, I returned for what I thought was a routine cleaning and they did X-rays instead, saying I needed a deep cleaning and had 3 cavities. I've never had a cavity in my life. I went back for another visit a month later for what I thought was a deep clean and they again said no, this is just a "debridement" visit. I had to go for a THIRD visit to have two fillings done, after which I had excruciating pain. I went back in and they said nothing was wrong and they couldn't help. I ended up paying for a different insurance and going to a new dentist who said absolutely no deep clean is necessary and they fixed the faulty fillings so I'm not in pain anymore. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC if you can avoid it. Truly awful."
