Reviews of Novant Health Harbor Pointe OB/GYN - Huntersville
"I am so glad I went to this location. I went to another Novant Health OBGYN location previously and it was an okay experience. This Huntersville location is the best OB/GYN visit I’ve ever had. It was really important to me to find a trauma informed OB/GYN . I felt very cared for, and all of my concerns were taken seriously. I highly recommend Rebecca Brunzell and Julia Truman, FNP. Everything from the check in/out process to getting bloodwork done, everyone was so nice and comforting. Everyone took the time to explain everything to me and made me feel safe the whole time I was in the office. This is the only office I will go to from now on. I know some people go to the OB/GYN for normal checkups and happy appointments (such as pregnancy). But if the OB/GYN is causes a little bit more discomfort for you than the average bear, I cannot recommend this location enough. I know this can be an intimidating experience for some of us. I hope whoever is reading his finds the right provider."
"Sexton was rude and mean. Will not see this doctor again. He had the wrong reason logged for my visit and when I informed him of the actual reason he said “Well then why are you here”. He stood with one foot out the door for the time of our conversation and was uninterested in my questions. I had wanted a second opinion but will now be getting a third. The nurse was exceptionally nice as well as the receptionist. The only issue was with Sexton. He was terrible and I would not recommend him as a doctor for anyone."
"This is a bit personal to share on a google review, so the only reason I'm choosing to post publicly is because I would have liked to have seen this review prior to my visit. I went to see Dr. Sexton this past January. Long story short, something didn't feel right and I wanted to get my hormones checked. My cycles weren't like clockwork, but in Dr. Sexton's words "They averaged out to be in the average range and weren't of concern." When I pushed harder on it, he acted completely annoyed and asked what hormones I wanted checked (like I knew??? That's why I was there paying to see him??) He agreed to do one measly little progesterone test and recorded it as elective (relevant because I had to pay a big fat lab bill even after contacting the office and my insurance company to figure out why). I was frustrated and didn't return. Flash forward a few months, we moved to another state, I found a great OB who tested my hormones for me... my prolactin levels were through the roof and it TURNS OUT I HAD A BRAIN TUMOR. A. BRAIN. TUMOR. Thank God it is benign and we're getting it figured out now, but the point of this entire long post is that if a provider makes you feel ridiculous for asking a question about your own body, find a new one. If you want them to take you seriously and have your hormone levels checked, lie and tell them you've been trying to get pregnant for a year - whatever. But push for what feels right in your gut. I wish I would have trusted my gut better last January and found a new provider that would take me seriously."
"The scheduling person mentioned that the doctor could do a robotic or regular surgery and that is the reason I chose to go to this facility; however to my disappointment he does not and now I have to see someone else and pay more money for a new consulting. The nurse and doctor were excellent but I would had like to be told ahead of time of their limitations."
"My doctor and nurse were incredibly helpful, my appointment was my first ever obgyn appointment and they were both phenomenal! They answered all of my questions perfectly; and explained every step in the appointment process which eased my nerves. I would recommend Dr.Patel to anyone, she’s amazing!"
