Reviews of Southeast Pain and Spine Care - Ballantyne
"The staff was always friendly. Dr. Richard Park and Catherine Boudreaux were outstanding. So helpful and knowledgeable. The only problem I had was having to call each month to request my meds be called into CVS."
"My initial appt with this facility was 3/21/22. They scheduled my 1st Dtr appt 5/5/22. While waiting for over 5 wks, I was sent for X-ray and shortly afterward an MRI. Today it was necessary for me to call regarding my appt. My call was immediately placed on hold with no courtesy follow up. I held for 12 minutes before I hung up and called back. Again I was immediately placed on hold. This time I held for over 20 minutes before I had to hang up again as I was calling from my job and could no longer tie up their line. I waited abt an hour and called back and again was promptly put on hold. I held another 10 min before my call was actually taken. After having read all the reviews on this place and waiting as long as I have I am very concerned about their capabilities of servicing their patients."
"This place is a joke! Most of the staffs are rude and not welcoming especially the nurses. No comparison for the patients. I should have read the reviews before coming. Now I see why there’s so many 1 stars. If I could give a zero star I would, 1st of all, I was referred to Dr. Poiask from a good friend who saw him in 2019. I’ve been 3 times and have seen 3 differ Drs that has 3 differ things they tell me when I go. Friday the 29th will be my 4th time going, to see a differ Dr which is Dr number 4. I am having lower chronic back pain and these people who’s seeing me are treating me like I have just some mild or moderate aching pains. I am not mobile at the moment and hadn’t been for a while. They’ve scheduled 2 procedures and because of poor communication and not sending in the proper information or all of the information they should have, my insurance had turned me down twice stating that they need more information from doctor. I have given my physical therapist and Chiropractor info and obviously they failed to get the info to my insurance company and unfortunately it was denied. The 1st denial I was scheduled to come in for, they called me at the end of closing and left a message saying that my appointment was canceled for the following morning bc my insurance denied. My next procedure was scheduled for Nov 2nd. I called today to find out was I approved, only for them to tell me it was denied again for same reason , lack of info not presented to ins company. Then they expect for you to come into office every time you need to talk about the meds that they give you when it doesn’t work. I asked for a virtual or phone appt. because I was in so much pain to come in. The nurse told me no they want and for me to go to the emergency room if I’m not mobile. That is a slap in the face for someone who can’t walk down 3 flights of stairs in excruciating pain. It is a no winning situation at this place. I have an appointment on this coming Friday and I will see what happens next. I’m so over it! They are rude and no one cares about how you feel. You never can get anyone on the phone. It is hard to get a call back from the nurse when you have to leave a message for a call back. Patients are the reason they have a job and they need to realize that. PLEASE do your research before planning to go to and facility. I will be taking my business elsewhere SOON!"
"I never leave reviews unless service was exceptionally good or bad. Such was the case at Southeast pain and spine. Problems began at scheduling where both staff members I spoke to were and rude and difficult to work with. I arrived 30 mins early and after waiting 45 minutes past my apt time, I️ could not wait any longer, so I left. I rescheduled and met with Dr. Park two weeks later. Having gone through two surgeries and complicated medical past I️ Have met with many doctors, he was one of my least favorite. I did not get the sense he was interested in my case nor did I get the sense that he was taking my pain seriously. In-fact, after 10 minutes of meeting him his hand was on the exam room door as if he could not wait to leave. Ultimately I was discharged without treatment because of a the policy that they had failed to let me know of before either appointments were made. I would never recommend this facility is or it’s doctors to anyone."
"I have had 4 appointments with the facility. First appointment was with Dr. Park who I will say right out of the gate, gave me my life back. He came up with a treatment plan based on all of my records and medical images that he ordered and what I had already had completed previously. The Second appointment was a Right Lumbar Facet Injection as well as the Third appointment. These were done to make sure the location of my pain was consistent with his treatment plan. After the two Lumbar Facet Injections I had zero pain which I had not felt in 10 years. They did wear off, but finally the correct area was located by Dr. Park. He then scheduled the Fourth appointment for the Radio Frequency Ablation. After the Fourth and final appointment I had zero pain when I left. I have not felt pain free in over 10 years. From my research this last 6 to 18 months sometimes longer depending on the individual and that’s way better than eating pills everyday to manage pain. Up until this time I have had Dr’s do nothing but give medications that either made me a zombie or not able to function without side affects. I don’t want medication to mask the pain and become an addict which inadvertently is what happens with chronic pain which the majority of the time is no fault of the patient, Sometimes the patient does not even realize that they have become addicted to the meds because it relieves the pain and that’s the goal. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout my entire experience with this facility. Dr. Park and his staff are excellent and treat you like a person not an addict. I will say, this facility has many safeguards in place to prevent you from trying to just get pills. They want to treat you and help, not make addicts. So if that’s what your looking to do here, go somewhere else. If you are wanting true pain relief from a very professional and very sharp Dr, Dr Park is the man. I thank him very much for where I’m at today, pain free and enjoying life."
