Reviews of Carolina Urology Partners: Fort Mill
"Just had my vasectomy today and it was an amazing smooth process doc and staff where amazing 10/10 would recommend. And they can fit you on the schedule in a very timely manner!"
"When I became pregnant I made the decision to come off of all meds, including bladder, just to be safe. Dr. Douglas said he “thought it would be fine” but “couldn’t legally say that” since the FDA hadn’t done research on the meds I was on and the effects during pregnancy. After delivery I wanted to go back on meds for my Interstitial Cystitis and made an appointment to see a new doctor at this same practice, who I’d heard had good results with patients with IC like myself. I saw Dr. Ezell once before I was notified by mail that he retired & my next appointment was rescheduled to Dr. Magura (who I had seen one other time before but just didn’t feel I hit it off with); he was nice in the office at this appointment, seemed to listen and said he had a medication he thought could help with pelvic spasms. A Valium suppository (he said he had 1 other patient on it but was unsure of the dosage) I sat in the office for 30+ minutes after my appointment waiting on his nurse to call around to pharmacies asking what mg he should order. He finally decided on 2mg and handed me a script. He said that I’d need to come get a hand written prescription every time I needed a refill. When I get to the pharmacy I find that he didn’t write the mg we discussed, which was the 2mg, the frequency or the amount written on it and therefore couldn’t be filled. The script would also have to be sent to a compounding pharmacy and I would have to drive an hour to pick it up, so this is getting to be a challenge but... still doable at this point. (This was all happening on a Friday and couldn’t be addressed until Monday). Monday I speak to the compounding pharmacy, who tells me that no matter the mg, my insurance isn’t going to cover it & so I’ll have to pay $65-70 for it, so I need to get this right because this medication is expensive. When I finally talk to the nurse, she says that Dr. Magura has changed his mind, & wants to do the 1mg not 2mg. He feels that starting out low & progressing higher is best. Okay, fine. Either way, I’ll have to drive 45 minutes to the office again to pick up a new, corrected script & then drive it an hour to a compounding pharmacy. But this has put me through the ringer & I can’t afford to pay for this again next month if the 1mg isn’t effective & they decide to increase to the 2mg. This is where the issues take off. The nurse I spoke with on the phone in so many words told me there wasn’t anything she could do, it wasn’t her problem & that if I couldn’t afford it, I should just split them in half (to equal 0.5?). Wouldn’t it make more financial sense to write the 2mg & split those in half, thus making a 2 month supply of 1mg? I was attempting to let her know that I was paying out of pocket for the med that would be the same price no matter the mg. She refuses to let me talk, threatens to call my pharmacy & have it decreased further, which they don’t even have a valid script for at this point) like I’m going to get high with a suppository. The nurse literally says “I don’t know what you want, but I can’t be on the phone with you all day, I’ve got 10 other people to call.” As a nurse myself I understand she’s in a hurry, but get the whole story before you berate me. I was so angry at not being allowed to speak, I hung up on her. Yesterday, I got a certified letter sent through mail that they are terminating our client/provider relationship. When I called to speak to the office manager to let her know that I would take responsibility for hanging up and would find another doctor, but wanted a chance to explain my rationale and the experience, I didn’t get a call back whatsoever. Update: years later… I’m now seeing a Urogynocologist in Charlotte that is much more knowledgeable on Interstitial Cystitis. I’ve been diagnosed with severe pelvic floor disfunction. I’ve been seeing a PF PT for years on/off. I’m now making my own suppositories at home with a script that I fill 1x/year. Do yourself a favor & advocate for your care."
"Excellent practice. Both Dr. Singal and her assistant Amber were extremely caring and helpful. I highly recommend them."
"Dr. Matthews diagnoses , then discusses with me what he thinks is in my best interest as far as treatment. He is always interested in my input also. It is never a one-sided visit. Dr. Matthews has been my urologist for 17 years and has always been respectful and kind."
"I saw Dr. Wright Monday, January 6, 2020 for cystitius. I told him I was a patient of Dr, Kondstandt in Huntersville and had moved here from Charlotte. He said well I am David Wright not David Konstandt .I needed meds to do bladder installations at home. He had never heard of that. I didn't like his bed side manner and want be returning to that office . What kind of Dcotor is that. I will drive the extra miles to see Dr. Konstandt from here on."
