Reviews of Atrium Health Urgent Care
"The PA I saw “Wesley” was incredibly knowledgeable and had amazing bedside manner. Front desk lady super nice. Clean facility! Great experience!"
"The address for this facility is INCORRECT on your website. This was very upsetting because I was very sick and had to be talked to the address though the (very nice person) call center number. Got that number from Steelcreek Emergency where the wrong directions sent me. I tested positive for Covid (onset three days before), yet was not prescribed Paxlovid.Had brown mucus from both nose and lungs and was not given antibiotics. The receptionist was very pleasant, and those who saw me were also nice. Yet, nobody wanted to treat me. Upshot......A very unhappy trip for nothing."
"YOU WILL BE IGNORED! The lady who sat left of the front window took 2 minutes to acknowledge our presence while she was laughing and having a good old time with someone in front of her. I came with left arm pain and chest tightening and was in a lot of pain. My brother had to hold me up because I was very weak. We stood there waiting to see if she would acknowledge us. But no, she kept on laughing with the person at her window. My brother knocked, not once, but TWICE on the window and it took her almost another minute to turn to us with the NASTIEST MOST IRRITATING response and said “SIR, you don’t have to do that! I see you! Now what’s the problem?” She didn’t even look at me as I was clearly not well and tears running down my face while he was holding me up but she didn’t even look at me the whole time. My brother responded, “This is an emergency!” The lady said “Well I heard you! Don’t you see I’m with someone?!” My brother replied “Well I don’t want my sister to die!!” She said “She’s not going to die SIR! Her nasty attitude continued as if we were troubling her from her laughing duties. She asked “what is wrong with her?” As she snapped her neck with her disrespectful tone she looked at me in disgust. Then she called for a wheel chair. The only person who checked on me attentively was a black man. He called EMT because of my symptoms of my pain and heart. He did the right thing. But the lady at the front was the typical everyday NASTY you see in people who don’t care about anyone’s life and maybe their own. Please tell me why Atrium staffs such a person? People should be screened in all aspects of personal interest in human care. Some type of customer care training at least! See if they have the willingness and compassion needed in healthcare. Just my opinion and my experience. Most people have been in the health field for many years and have compassion and kindness on their belt. But this women at Atrium Urgent care on S Tryon was the worst person I have ever experienced in the field! I forgot to mention one of the nurses who didn’t knock and just came into my room, looked at my heart rate and walked out..without a word! I may have been in a lot of pain but my memory serves me right, especially during traumatic events. I know that there is a shortage on kind people these days but there’s no excuse for these ones who has a position to care for us to take that privilege as a position to horde it over others as if we were inferior to them. Not one person is exempted from pain and suffering, you can’t even escape death as we all will fall asleep one day. In my profession as a customer service manager I deal with a lot of disrespectful individuals but there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving, especially when someone needs help. Loving our neighbor and putting their interest first will always make us happy. Please Atrium, find ones like that will make someone sick, better mentally as they experience a kind and compassionate healthcare facility. I want to thank you kindly for the care that I did receive. The CMC Emergency room was able to care for me as much needed to be."
"2:30pm Upon arrival receptionist waited a moment before greeting. After asking how I was she dismissed me into waiting room. After waiting about 20 minutes she asked me to come into the back to provide identification and she would put me into the system. She said wait time would be 7 hours. And clinic closes in 5 hours. As I was answering questions for her another staff member was wheeling out a patient in a wheelchair and didn't even say anything as they were trying to squeeze past me in the doorway. I stepped to the side to allow them to get through and the receptionist kept asking questions instead if waiting for me to return to window after allowing the person in a wheelchair to be wheeled out. Highly unprofessional and unenthusiastic receptionist, if you don't like your job get a new one don't make everyone walk into the back and in the way of patients leaving cause you don't feel like moving from your spot. 2:50pm asked receptionist if there was a location she would recommend and after she scanned to see if a coworker was around she told me there was an AFC urgent care off tyvola that would have lower wait times. I then asked why it was a 7 hour wait time and she begansaying that ill probably be seen before that since there was only one person ahead of me other then online appointments. So i asked if only one person is ahead of me physically why would the wait time be quoted for 7 hours where the clinic itself closes in 4.5 hours. She replied that the system says 7 hours but it probably won't be that long . I said thank you and Gathered my things to leave. As I got to the door she began calling my name to try and talk to me. I told her to have a good day and walked out. No reason for a 7 hour wait if I come in stating I have breathing problems. Last detail noticed on exiting the building the water fountain was disconnected that patients could utilize, but receptionist was offering water bottles.....if you have a means of transportation or able to look at reviews prior to visiting this facility then please stay clear of this facility."
"I came in early and when I went to the front desk the lady barely said anything but two words to me. She acted as if she didn’t wanna be there and made me feel very unwelcome. At some point she had even stepped OUTSIDE THE BUILDING to have a conversation on her phone. While she was gone a couple came out from the back trying to check out, there was no specification anywhere on how or where to check out, and after standing at the front desk for 5 minutes a nurse came out. I came in for my scheduled appointment early and waited patiently. I kept waiting over an hour after the time my appointment was made for. (My appointment was 2:40 I was called back at 4) The place was fairly dirty, the floors, there was tape holding together the film on some of the furniture in the lobby. A used mask next to the trash can, the lamp I was next to had visible dust. In the check up room there was spider webs in the corner, old used ear piece on the floor to the side of the bed with a toy ball. Dust on the machines, and everything just seemed to have a dirty feel to it."
