"My mother was a long-time patient of Dr Macdonald’s. April 2022 my 90 year old mother presented with Bells Palsy-type symptoms. Immediately, she saw Dr Allred (in Dr Macdonald’s absence) who confirmed Bells Palsy. 5 months later (Sep 2022), my mother's symptoms had not improved, so we made a follow-up appointment. She saw Dr Macdonald who referred her to a neurologist. Dr Macdonald's office made an appointment for her with a neurologist for Jan 2023 - four months later! My mother never made that appointment as she passed away on December 29, 2022 due to a tumor on her parotid gland. It's hard to believe that the soonest an appointment could be made with a neurologist for a 90 year old, who had non-improving symptoms for 5 months for an issue that should have cleared up, was in another 4 months! Had my mother seen a neurologist initially, perhaps the misdiagnosis would have been recognized and the outcome different."
