"I recently took the two week bartending class here and cannot say enough good things about it! Rick Vance was an amazing teacher, and made every class fun and informative. His knowledge of bartending and it's history were fascinating. You had time each day to apply the skills and drinks you learned behind the bar, which helped to develop your confidence in using the tools and learning the recipes. This is the REAL thing, you will have to study a number of recipes and techniques. Whether you want to improve your skills, learn a new craft, or are just fascinated by bartending, you will not be disappointed."
"Short version is the training is great, but isn't going to lead to any employment. There's other reviews talking about the instruction and I have nothing to disagree with. The unfortunate part is that jobs are able to require experience and there are already experienced bartenders to fill the positions. I'd say that isn't the fault of the school, but that isn't what was explained to me prior to graduating. I really should have taken the recent graduate's frustration with the lack of jobs more seriously when she came in during the sales pitch. Rick could've addressed that more accurately than blaming her not wanting to drive. Jobs just aren't hiring new people. I'll add that Rick's telling of another student having to waitress for a few months to get on as a bartender is less a story of perseverance and more demonstrative of the lack of regard local businesses have for the training. My sample size is limited, but I received more of a response with no bartending school on my resume that I have with it. The real issue is that a month later I haven't had any interest in my applications, I haven't received any leads on jobs and it's pretty obvious the school is done with me after receiving payment. They talk up the employment assistance, but mentioning Indeed isn't assistance nor is mentioning a bar who's website clearly requires at least a year of experience. Thanks. I'd already heard about the openings and already been to the site to find that out. I shouldn't have to tell that to the person who's supposed to be helping me find a job. If you made it this far you probably haven't written this off as all my fault and are giving some second thoughts to if you want to pay over $600 for a school that isn't going to get you hired anywhere. I wish I had. You don't need an expensive school to get hired on as a waitress and work your way into bartending and you won't hear that from anyone at this school till you've already paid."
"I booked a bartender through here for my wedding and I absolutely loved them! Our bartender was also named Blair (how funny)! She was amazing and could make a SPICY margarita. The owner and manager who I interacted with were great and extremely knowledgeable. If I end up divorced and having another wedding, I’ll definitely book through Knoxville bartending school again!"
"I recently attended the Knoxville School of Bartending, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience. The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft! 10/10 recommend"
"I can’t say enough good things about Rick and his crew at the Knoxville Bartending School. Very professional, has great knowledge of new and old drinks as well as the history of the drinks too. Made learning fun in the class and had endless patience with me while making the more complex drinks. Anyone whose thinking about getting into bartending need to take this class!! Rick’s a great guy and always loved to hear those 5 words, “That looks great, Sell It!!!” Thanks again bud!"
