"So let me just start by saying. The doctors here are amazing I was taking all five of my cats here and my dog. Unfortunately recently I’ve had some bad experiences mostly with one particular staff member. For the most part I’ve ignored her rude and unprofessional behavior but it’s gotten to a point now we’re I’m no longer comfortable taking my pets here. All of my animals are rescued from either the ccac or off the streets. The other day I was walking my dog and a lady stopped me saying she found a puppy on the street over and she needed help locating the owner. This dog was/is extremely malnourished. I offered to take the dog and post him on next door app and paw boost and I did. I suspect this dog belong to a neighbor that was evicted recently and they left him behind. Because I have so many animals I wanted to make sure that this animal was number one okay, and number two safe to be around my other pets. So like a responsible animal loving person I called my vet who I trust completely up until this point. I let them know that I need to have this pup seen and check for a chip. She tells me that I need to do a ten day hold I inform her I e already posted him on Facebook PawBoost and Nextdoor app and this miserable excuse for a human being tells me that I should drop the dog off at Cumberland county animal control so that they can be responsible for his vet bills and that I can put in a request to foster if I want to. I was livid. I let her know there was zero chance that I would ever turn the dog over to them and that if I decided not to keep him he would go to to a rescue then I asked her to just clarify that she was saying they couldn’t see him for ten days she then says no we can’t see him at all (except to recheck for a chip) because we have no availability period. She refused to schedule him at all. Now had she from the get go just said he we can’t get him any time soon you should try somewhere else that would be one thing. But to suggest I take him to the animal control where there’s a possibility that he never makes it out of there is just wild to me. She even told me that my fully vaccinated dog isn’t safe to be around him because she’s not fully protected. Like what??? The vet we did end up going to laughed and said that’s absolutely not true that’s the whole point in vaccines. As much money as I spend in this establishment I’m just baffled. But I will not support a business that encourages people to leave dogs at the Cumberland county animal shelter instead of taking them in. That place is already full and dogs are being euthanized daily. I have the funds and the space to give this baby a good home until I either find his owner or keep him. Just disappointing!!!!"
"This morning my husband and I caught this cat. She was in so much pain and needed to be euthanized. She was wild and i would not be able to care for any after treatment she may need if surgery had been an option. I was turned away at 2 vet offices by the time I saw the office. I was emotional because of the other places saying they couldn't help me. I also had been feeding this cat for years. She would never let me touch her though. So taking her was very emotional for me. When I got there, the secretary told me they were short staffed and not taking new patients but to hold on and she would see what she could do. I sat down and started ugly crying. I was a complete mess, I just knew I was gonna have to take this poor cat home and shoot her because noone would help me. A kind older woman came out of the back, handed me a box of tissues and said she would help me. I did not get her name but she was like my angel this morning. She had no idea what I had already been through she just wanted to help. She hugged me and I hugged her. She told me she would call me when i could pick the carrier up. I can't thank her enough. This is what animal care is all about. Rest in peace little mama cat."
