Reviews of MyComputerCareer
"I think this is the worst institution I have ever been or enrolled in. Homelessness is a real thing, especially when you are trying to get assistance to support your family and you get a run around when trying to contact their facility to complete a form needed to bring back to the welfare department. Never like writing a horrible review but truly a disappointment in my eyes. A school that is desperate for veterans money. Tisk, tisk."
"Not recommending this course or subject. Be aware that this will cost you $20K up front, not like college courses in which you pay for the course per semester, they want their money up front and when you ask for the cost of this program, they make you sit through an hour presentation. I had to interrupt my “guidance counselor” to cut to the quick and get the bottom figures. I was told $20 K plus a computer if I needed one. Very pushy in my opinion, need to get you signed up ASAP to get enrolled for the Jan 9th class but when I asked when the next enrollment starts after the Jan 9th class, I was told “We are not INFORMED” of this timing at the moment, and will not know until it is communicated! Not sure about anyone else, but the last I knew, in college, they have times for each semester. So, this was another red flag, plus the guidance counselor, Mr. Tim, informed me that he did not have ANY experience within the computer or IT area but was a motivational speaker. Not sure about anyone else, but I prefer a person that is familiar with the subject that I am working on, to be my guidance counselor, not a motivational speaker. This upfront, made me very uncomfortable and let me walk away with the used car salesman production and I did not make the commitment since I can find more educational programs out there for much less than $20k. My advice, don’t do it….. To add on to this, the "cut to the quick" was relating to the cost of the program. I don't think its appropriate to be pushed to watch a presentation when a person is asking how much? I was not informed until after the "Kirby Vacuum" pitch was delivered. This is not a good approach my opinion. If you can't share the cost up front of $20,000 then it makes me wonder why, or is it the fact that this will turn people away? I know I would not have bothered calling if I knew this up front since I am on a very tight budget. I also find it humorous that while I could not find tuition cost easily, I was able to pull up the Norte Dame University and they put on the front page the avg cost of tuition after government aid, but why not MCC? What I have found in my past experience in almost all thing’s involving money is that, if you can’t have a total cost up front then why are you bothering to look? When was the last time you bought something that you didn’t know the cost until you go up to the counter to pay? This is the biggest RED FLAG of all. Don’t even start a discussion, until you know the numbers up front….."
"As an Adjunct Instructor, I love what we offer our students. The team at MYCC work very hard to ensure we deliver a curriculum that not only focuses on the certifications, training and real world experience but as whole to the student. It is important to be a well balanced person to achieve your life goals and MYCC ensures just that. The staff has been very welcoming to me and I love what I do at MYCC I was able to make it my full time passion. Great School, Great Staff!"
"If I could give negative stars I would. Save your money and time and go to a community college or ANYTHING else. The admissions staff will lie to you in order to get your money. The teaching is NOTHING which is described over the phone. They will NOT prepare you for your certificate tests, they'll spend an hour going over something just to say "but you don't need to know this." After talking to higher ups it seems to be that no one will do anything in order to fix the problem at hand. I could've spent the $22,000 on MUCH better things."
"I put one star so I can give a real review on this place. It’s actually a -⭐️ I withdraw from the program after being in it for one day; due to the fact you can’t download the pdf books to read in my spare time. They exspect you to sit at a computer for hours to read the books. Since then im unable to get in contact with anybody from the school to get back my deposit for a laptop I never received; I have left over five voicemails and three emails trying to get in contact with someone about retrieving my deposit. Its going on some months now and Im at the point where Im going to have to file a lawsuit on this school. If your trying to pursue a career in iT, consider another school. This place is a scam."
