"My boys(9, 12) have been studying piano under Kellis in the Dryers Music Studio for the past 4 years. We had studied with 3 other teachers in the Cary area and we could not be happier finding Kellis. I totally see my kids studying under her until moving away to college! Kellis is a classically trained pianist. Her piano curriculum includes not only the piano playing techniques but also the musical theory and history about the pieces and the composers. She has a perfect balance of being nice and stern. She is extremely patient, however, she also sets clear expectations on practice. She encourages and prepares her students to compete in various piano competitions and festivals as ways to push and challenge them. She also participates in the National Guild program where students work towards a set of goals every year to continue to improve themselves. Annually she holds two formal recitals, as well as informal duet parties and other charitable performances.
