"this school looks like ass. Straight up ASS. ok, the teachers are pretty decent. Some of them get mad randomly. some are really rude and sassy. I know that teachers have to grade a lot of papers and are constantly working and their stressed out, but what is the point of teachers if your going to act sassy and rude to your students. I swear, Mr.Winters is the only reason I'm going there. If he wasn't going there, this school would deserve a no star."
"This school is actually pretty good. I enjoy it here and here is why I say that; The school is better than at my Elementary school, they actually serve fresh food and not just a packet with a PB&J inside of it. Most of my teachers are awesome and actually care about your education, instead of them just doing it for the money. Unfortunately there are some downsiders too. I've seen a couple of fights here at this school, I don't know if these people are trying to become popular or something (Which is working) or they just really hate each other. Another downside is that this school has to many people fighting I don't know if they really hate each other or they're just trying to become popular. Another downside is that this school has too many people and is nearly overflowed, when the bell rings the hallways immediately fill up with kids, and some of them shove and push each other. As you can see there are many reasons why I think this school is good and why I think this school is bad. Overall, it's not that bad."
"I was forced to go there to finish my 6th grade year. I was miserable. The teachers aren't interactive AT ALL! I'm an advanced student, and I bored in my math class because it was things I already learned. A lot of the people there are jerks. If you love your child, do not force them to go there!!! I transferred to a magnet school, and it's a lot better! The only thing that they seem to care about is the dress code. The gym teachers treat you like its military school, and not only are the gym uniforms that they force you to buy wicked ugly, they are also made of really cheap material. They don't go above and beyond to make learning fun, at west cary they literally go the bare minimum. Do NOT GO!!!!!! You will regret it, mark my words."
"Probably one of the worst schools I've been to. The teachers act like they don't care about the education. They ramble on and just don't teach. You have to buy uniforms for gym class that are probably the cheapest materials they could get. Administration was terrible. The school is just terrible. If you love your child, please send them somewhere else."
"I will say this, the school has had some issues with bullying + issues with kids. It has gotten to the point where the principle has come onto the announcements and has stated that she had used fake social media accounts to obtain information about this bullying that has gone around. This made me very uncomfortable due to the fact that I do have social media accounts that I prefer to keep private and away from public POV. She also made remarks about how we used grammar/profanity on social media as well, which then she made a conclusion that we couldn't handle it because we swear/use it inappropriately. Another problem I have with West Cary is how they implement a 90 minute block schedule every Tuesday and Thursday. This doesn't help me at all, these 90 minute block schedules are for people who don't even study at home daily. I find it a waste a time as well, it helped me 0% when it came to 1Q benchmarks because a teacher would be talking about their previous career they had instead of teaching the fundamentals we needed. Another problem I have is the implement of technology. Due to issues that happen due to immature kids, we are not allowed to have any electronic device on us. If a teacher sees that we have one in our pocket, they take it away automatically (The phone can be off, they can still take it away. They will write up the child because they are not complying with the instructions given.) Teachers have to ask administration to allow kids to use their cellphones to help them in class. The teacher must give a reason why this technology should be used in class as well. I've heard teachers getting "yelled" by administration for them trying to implement technology. We also still have books from 1980 also, I have no idea where the PTSA money goes towards after fundraisers towards the school. They say it goes towards technology, but the only new technology I've seen is teachers with tablets that help them keep track of their classes. Also, students are required to buy gym shorts/shirts that price up to $20 in total. The material is so cheap that you could probably find this stuff at your local Dollar General to be honest. But in general, I'm giving this 0 stars if I could. Send your kids somewhere else please, your kid will not be satisfied with the education that this school provides."
