"Couldn't find my first review, maybe it was deleted. I went there mid November with a minor cut from a chainsaw. I knew it wasn't terrible that's why I went to an urgent care not the ER. The doctor on staff without looking at my wound or talking to me about the severity of the injury told the receptionist to send me to the ER leaving me to leave Swain community 45 mins later with 7 stiches and an $1,800 bill. Had I'd known that I would have driven the few extra miles to go to Sylva as I will be doing for future visits to an urgent care facility. It's totally unacceptable that the doctor or even a nurse bothered to looked at my wound before making that call. Disappointing"
"I’m editing my review to a one star, my husband gave it a try. He had a splinter in his hand that caused an infection and we couldn’t remove it. Again, long wait for no apparent reason. Dr Gans said there was no splinter but did give him a script for an antibiotic. Three days later we dug it out without novacaine, it was 3/4” long and a larger circumference than a toothpick. Worthless place to go. I think the healthcare is decent but a manager should step in and work thru the process for efficiency of time. Every time I’ve been in I have witnessed the healthcare providers just standing around the station chatting while the parking lot is full of waiting customers. In the summer it is very warm so you have to run your AC or get heatstroke. Running the AC is bad for the environment. They have tons of space to spread people out in the building and waiting rooms and the typical wait times while they handle just one person at a time are measured in hours not minutes."
"I had to get stitches, and the nurses and doctor were very nice and comforting. I also did not have to wait very long. Very professional place!"
"We had an excellent experience with my husband getting stitches at this urgent care. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!"
"I’ve had bad experiences with other urgent cares in the area where you wait in the waiting room for an hour when there’s only one person ahead of you. I walked in here today for the first time. Waiting room was packed but I was in within 30 minutes. Nurse and doctors were quick and I was out of there with a diagnosis in 5 minutes. I’ll be using this place from now on."
