"And the government wonders why so many veterans end their lives on a regular basis. My boyfriend goes in today needing a referral because he is litterally GOING BLIND in one eye. The woman at the desk immediately cut him off numerous times, was sarcastic and rude, insisted she couldn't help him without hearing him out or looking into any options or talking to a manager. Maybe employ people that actually gaf rather than people like this woman who acts so inconvenienced by doing her job."

"Wait times to contact parties you want to talk to is extreme most of the time, 25 -45 minutes, and most of the time after you get patched to a voice mail. Every time I've call the NC Hickory VA number, someone in Asheville NC answers and they in turn patch you back to Hickory NC and the wait time starts all over again."

"Absolutely awful. They called me to schedule in December 23’ then realized it wasn’t supposed to be until Dec 24’ (wrong was supposed to be December 23’ then tell me they can’t see me till June. What joke no wonder we have so many veterans killings themselves. It’s cause nobody cares about us!!! Thanks for nothing hickory VA you’ve successfully made mental health worse!!! You’re killing us and not just figuratively."

"This is a very good clinic and super convenient basically right off of I 40. The people are friendly and efficient. The nursing staff are super! I have always had great interactions with them. There is always that person and this location is no exception. I have had trouble over the phone with a person who was very judgemental to the point where I had to say something. "I just wanted to say thank you for listening to me. I was going to give up I’ve tried for so long to get help for my mental problems and trying to get someone that listens and cares and actually try’s is hard. I forget his name from yesterday and I’m sorry for yelling at him but in the end I feel like my life is going to get better and I won’t have the problems I’ve had for so long. The va rules sometimes makes your job hard to do I understand that I just think when it’s about money the va can find every file in every hospital you have ever been to but when it’s not you have to tell them everything. When you have problems with memory and your not sure what’s real and what’s fake it makes getting help 10 times harder. Thank all of you so much and the people answering the phones.
