MAHEC Ob/Gyn Specialists

"I cannot say enough good things about this obgyn. In both my pregnancy i experienced rough HG all 9 months. Though the first apt was always delayed scheduling because they dont check till your x amount of weeks, once youre in, youre in good hands. They listened to my needs through both pregnancy and were 100% supportive. I was on IVs twice a week for my second pregnancy, and they ran tests everytime to see how I was doing and if there were any slight red flags they would send me to the hospital until my vitals leveled out. At the end of my second pregnancy, my family had to relocate unexpectedly and my new ob is way under par from what mahec had gotten me used to. The only tidbit i would add in here is sometimes theyre running a behind on their schedule, but in my experience its because theyre actually giving people the attention they need. Just be prepared to wait sometimes, they always try and move people as quickly as possible, but they also always made sure you're heard and not feeling rushed out the door. I will greatly miss this place and its the first I recommend to any friends/family still in the area"

"Such a solid experience every time, from the check-in, to exam check-out. Glad there has been consistency with one of my medical professionals. Dr. Phares gets all the props. She explains things in a way that is easy to understand. She is also very communicative about what she is going to do in order to ease any tension you may have as a patient. Just a great place all around."

"Avoid if you can. Our (amazing) OBGYN sent us to Mahec for the in depth ultrasound and on the first visit, they told us the actual ultrasound would be an hour and a half after the scheduled time. On the follow up visit that was scheduled months in advance, they had me confirm my appointment several times before the Tuesday morning ultrasound. We show up on time and were told they canceled it that morning without calling us to let us know. I asked what their policy was on their last minute cancellations and the receptionist had no clue. We’re looking for another ultrasound specialist and are happy to drive out of the way to find someone who will actually see us."

"I moved to NC from FL in September 2023, I was quite worried about finding a good obgyn mid pregnancy (high risk). I was referred to a different office but they were not accepting any more patients with March due dates… I took a chance and called MAHEC and from the very first call and every other call/ visit… and have been extremely impressed. I can be rather picky and easily turned off but everyone has been so professional/ friendly. In addition to the staff the office itself is clean and lovely. I actually look forward to my visits. I understand everyone has their own opinions/ experiences but I encourage potential new patients to give this place a try and form your very own opinion based on your experience."

"I have never had such an amazing experience at any doctor’s office in my entire life. I had an issue that needed immediate attention and reached out to MAHEC OBGYN after a friend convinced me to call. The scheduler on the phone let me know since I would technically be a new patient, I would need to get a referral from MAHEC family practice in order to get seen as soon as possible. Thankfully, I was able to get the referral and I was lucky enough to be able to get in within that same day. I saw Dr. Kiran, who was so understanding, kind and helpful. They explained everything so clearly to me. They took the time to listen to me and I’ve never felt so heard ever. I kept thinking I was in some sort of utopia for how everyone was treating me, like I was a real person that mattered. Nurse Stephanie was also so kind in making sure I was comfortable. From schedulers to nurses to doctors, such an amazing experience. I wish more doctor’s offices were like them."
