Reviews of Children's Recovery Center
"They truly care about keeping children healthy, happy and safe."
"With two intake calls I was told my daughter would have a interview and a medical exam (non-invasive) no needles or probing. First call was with Patti and the 2nd I do not recall her name both stated the above interview and a non-invasive exam. Also, stated everything would be on my daughters on accord and she can choose what she wants and don't want to answer or do. The day before the appointment we explained all of the above to my child. She was ok with it since she was in control and there would be no needles, probing and she can say no or not answer anything. Day of appointment arrive early 8:30am was the appointment time at 8:40am neither doctor or interviewer are there and then was told the doctor called off and would have to come back another day for the physical exam. At this point the entire thing should have just been rescheduled, but finally ay 9am they take my child back to be interviewed. All was fine with that my daughter said it was easy and the lady was very nice. Come back two days later for the exam everything switched 10am appointment they was late taking us back again. Now they say there needs to be blood work (needles) and urine testing (let me state this situation was 2yrs ago). Also, my daughter decided she did not want to be fully nude for the exam but would do bra and panties and he will not do blood work (she's terrified of needles and has to be held down for a shot (even at 15yrs old). I was in the room when she made this decision. I left the room so she could get undressed to the level she felt comfortable for the exam. According to my daughter the doctor kept recommending for a more thorough exam (apparently has a machine in the corner to look more closely to the private area according to my child) also kept suggesting to do the blood work. My child left feeling uncomfortable, pressured and lied too. Also, on out walk out they tried again to pressure me into the blood work. At the end of this it felt like this became about them and not my child or more about insurance billing for the doctor I am not for sure. Maybe they should explain that the doctor may recommend more invasive things and not tell you none of that happens. Also, maybe a little more sympathetic and learn how to talk too and not pressure families going through rough times. Let me say when I asked questions it was met with defensiveness and not sympathy, understanding or concern for the situation at hand. Will not recommend this place to anyone and will also let the city and state investigators to look for a better facility to use. Only positive was the interviewer my daughter stated she was very nice, respectful and did not pressure her like the doctor and other workers."
"I met a whole 2 people there when I went in for my daughter Ashlynn. The ladies that works there got really snappy and disrespectful with my 10 year old daughter Ashlynn when she said she didn't want to be there or even talk to them. Kelly spoke down to my daughter Ashlynn she was in trouble because my daughter expressed she didn't want to be there or talk to people she didn't know. My daughter had expressed at least 10 or more times no and the ladies kept pushing. Then had the audacity to look at me and get rood. The first form for children rights is a big joke. They say my child had a say and had rights but yet she tried to rip it away when they were not hearing what they wanted to hear. This place is a joke and the staff is rood at least in my cause with my daughter they were. Slimie sleaze bags is what they are. All about prosecution at any cost."
