"I do not and will never recommend this flight school to anyone. My son has been going to this school since November 2022 and it has been the worst experience of his life. All this school cares about is screwing students over and taking their money. They tell you in the beginning the cost is about 110,000.00 but before you can start the instructor portion of the training they tell you you need an additional 10,000.00 to finish out the training. Pretty bad when you talk to finance company’s they tell you they see this happen all the time with students from ATP. Most of the people who work for this school instructors included are not able to answer a lot of the questions asked. Instead of following and teaching what the FAA regulations are they teach their own regulations which only sets students up to fail check rides. Once my son started the instructor training portion he only had one training flight and then they made him do the check ride flight which he failed. Right after that they told him he wasn’t where they wanted him to be so they dropped him from that training and put him right into the multi engine portion of training. When he went to do the check ride to get his cert he was only able to do the written/verbal portion because the weather was to bad for him to be able to do the flight. He had to go to the school for 2 grounds, while he was there someone from the school told him if he failed the next check ride he would be dropped from the program and need to find a different career. He went and did the check ride last Friday and failed on 2 things due to being nervous. This morning as he was driving to the school he got a phone call from the school telling him he was a good student however they are dropping him from their program..Now my son is 120,000.00 in debt and lacking 2 of the required certs to get a job as a commercial pilot. This school was paid to teach and train my son so he could become a commercial pilot but they failed to do what they were paid to do. I have never in life heard of a school kicking a student out when the school failed to do the job they were paid to do. Thank you ATP for failing to do what you were paid to do. Stop ripping students off. It’s so sad to see you treat a army veteran the way you did"
"I would recommend it to someone if I hated them and wanted to see them cry uncontrollably. :("
"I implore anyone considering ATP flight school to research everything you can before making the decision. There are an abundance of online forums and reviews from past experiences. This school is only out to make money and keep their reputation up, so it will take some digging to find the truth of people's experiences at ATP (Glassdoor is good, and reddit has a lot of anonymous reviews not sponsored by the school). There is no difference to them if people "graduate" with 3+ failed checkrides or none at all, even though that could jeopardize a career right off the bat. Some people get through unscathed and have great things to say about it, but the flip side can be a nightmare. As long as corporate gets their money and pushes people through the program as fast as possible, they consider it a success on their part. I do not recommend it in its current state and there are other fast track programs available for far cheaper."
"DO NOT waste your money. ATP is way overpriced and do NOT care about the customer/student. I am a former student."
"Worst experience of my life! If Google reviews would let me leave 0 stars, I would. ATP is a Scam. Do not start this program. My instructor was very condescending and a jerk. He would always talk down to me if I didn’t know something. He made it miserable for me. Huge plane availability and instructor availability problem. When I was at ATP, my instructor and the lead instructor said there were 2 planes for 45 people. It took me 4 months to get only halfway done with private and they charged me over 23k. ATP always brags about being such a fast program, but my experience was the exact opposite. Flights constantly got cancelled. They make you pay upfront and consistently without being held accountable to get you through the program. They are under no obligation to get you done in 7 months, like advertised. There is no way you can finish in 7 months. They always make excuses for weather when the problem is a lack of planes. The plane shortage put me 2 months behind in the program. When I left the program, they overcharged me. They also never reached out to me when I left. They didn’t care. It's also impossible to get a hold of finance. I honestly called probably 15 times and no one ever answered. Someone also stole my $1200 Bose headset. ATP charged me $300 which they said they would refund, but never did. It's very corporate and super overpriced for what you get. They charge you for grounds, but the instructors don't actually do them because the instructors don't get paid to do them. I guess ATP just keeps the money. I was just a paycheck for ATP. Honestly, I would highly recommend any other flight school. Try to find one that's cheaper and where the instructors do more to help you. The instructors at ATP are just there to build hours to get to the airlines. They don't teach / instruct thoroughly. You get treated like a number.… to be honest, I hate being nasty and writing a bad review like that because all I wanted to do was finish the program and become a pilot."
