Reviews of Smokin' Southern Cantina
"I rarely have given an establishment a poor review and take no pleasure in doing so. Though the decor was quiant and the restaurant clean, the glitter stopped there. The server was friendly, but certainly not well trained. We stopped in for an early dinner to find we were the sole guests on entry. We each ordered the smokehouse brisket burrito. The food arrived quickly (almost too quick), and we dug in. Unfortunately, not only were the tortillas to soft and doughy, they had very little flavor. The brisket (which seemed more like shredded beef ) was not tender at all and had little to no smokey flavor and the burrito overall was very bland and tasteless. Our server did not check back with us until the meal was nearly finished, never asked if we would like drinks refilled, and was combative rude when politely asked why. We did eat the entire meal as we were quite hungry at the time. Highly unlikely that we will dine at this establishment again. Looked great from the street and inside, but in all honesty, the food and service were Highly disappointing."
"The Little Piggy Nachos were amazing! The feel of the restaurant is amazing! I’ve never had bad service here! I eat here every chance I can get!!"
"We checked out this place online before visiting and we were excited to try a new place. We were grossly disappointed. Four of us met for dinner and ordered pizza, old school nachos a burger and a bowl. All food was bland. The pizza was undercooked. The rice is the bowl was also undercooked. The nachos were horrible and the burger was not tasty. The server was nice, service was good."
"We found this place on accident, and they had empty tables available on a Friday night. The service was pretty good. A little slow, but not bad. Plenty of options on the menu. Great drink selections. The nachos were great. A little out of the ordinary, but maybe more meat than I have ever had on nachos. Good quesadilla with perfectly cooked tater tots."
"While visiting my in-laws, they took my wife and I here for dinner. I wasn't that hungry to begin with, but they were, so I just went along. I'm glad I did. We split the bill, so I could get what I wanted and not feel guilty about the price. My in-laws got the large order of the Little Piggy nachos for all of us to share, and even with five of us, there were still leftovers. The few bites I had were delicious and heaping with toppings. Very tasty! I started with the blackened tuna bites and then got the Aloha Bowl while my wife got the Beach Bum tacos. The tuna was good but a bit overcooked for my taste, as I prefer then to be a bit pink in the middle. Just my preference. The Aloha bowl was decent, but nothing to write home about, as it was skilletted chicken with some rice and two pieces of pineapple. My wife's Beach Bum tacos looked amazing and she devoured them very quickly. Overall, a great place to go for food. Our server was very attentive, as I am a fish when it comes to water. She was on it with the refills, so kudos to her! I will be in my own for food tomorrow, so may return and try something else. Good work!"
