"I would recommend Wilkes Pediatrics to anyone in need of a pediatrician. Both of my children(Ages 2&10) are patients of Dr. Pontzer, have been since birth and I couldn't be happier. He not only listens to my questions/concerns/suggestions but he also takes them into consideration and let's me know I'm being heard. He is very personable and is so gentle with the kids. He is very intellectual and explains things on a level that I, a non medical professional, can understand. Also, I cannot leave out Nurse Sarah, that woman is phenomenal! She's just so down to earth and knows how to get the job done quickly and accurately. She's a great addition to the clinic and I absolutely enjoy seeing her smiling face when we come in. The facility is always clean, I've never once walked in and saw trash laying around, or over flowing trash cans, none of that mess. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to assist with whatever your needs may be. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a pediatrician!"

"Our daughter's first appointment here went so well that I felt the need to write this review. My daughter had previously only been to one other doctor for her entire 6 years, and she was a nervous wreck every single appointment, having to be calmed down and held just to get through the appointment. Today, we went in to meet her new doctor, and she was so attuned to our daughter's needs and explained everything in a kid-friendly manner before doing any part of the check up. The nurse was very friendly and moved quickly and professionally. There was very minimal downtime and we left feeling happy and with stickers!"

"This office is a wonderful pediatric establishment within our community. Dr Raman is our main doctor in the office, but have had to see others from time to time. Regardless of who we have seen we always leave feeling we have been taken care of. The entire staff is always kind, patient and has great attention to detail. One thing that stands out to me, this office has two waiting rooms. There for a physical? You can sit on the well child side. There because your child has a fever? Then you are on the sick child side. This is wonderful for new parents especially to give them peace of mind and help keep small children well. Dr Raman specifically is an amazing doctor. I’ve never left feeling as if my questions weren’t answered or that my child didn’t receive premium care. I highly recommend this office!"

"The nurses are nice and do a good job. Dr. Pontzer has been wonderful, both my kids have had him since birth and my nephew also has him. My three star rating is bc of the receptionist. Most times they have been friendly but they setup the after hours recording before closing and to me, that is ridiculous."

"Let me start by saying one thing, my kids and I absolutely LOVE Dr. Sarah. She is amazing and is by far my favorite doctor my kids have ever seen. She gets 100 stars. However, this office gets 1 in my book. My ex husband and I live in different counties and want our children to have doctors close to both of us, so that we both are able to take them to a doctor quickly if needed. This office doesn’t allow the sharing of medical records. My kids were seen with a new doctor with their dad and he let his office know they already had another doctor and that we wanted them to share records. The other office was fine with that. 2 weeks later, I call Wilkes Pediatrics to get my daughter in for a sick visit, and the receptionist tells me my daughters records have been transferred and I try to explain that we wanted the records to be shared, not transferred. She’s sends me to medical records to explain my situation, so I’m hopeful I can clear up the misunderstanding. The lady in medical records tells me it’s office policy for them not to share records with other doctors and for the kids to only have one primary care doctor. I’m not crazy about this but I said okay well then how do I get the records transferred back because I’d rather this be their primary office with Dr. Sarah. Then she tells me it’s against office policy to transfer them back after they’ve been transferred out. Are you kidding me? So if I move out of state for a few years and move back then my kids wouldn’t have been able to come back to this office because they had been transferred out? That is ridiculous. So now, my kids cannot see their favorite doctor again unless she goes to another practice, and I sincerely hope she does. I’m not sure who makes the office policies, but it seems to me like doctors should be willing to share records of their patients in order to provide the best care possible. So this office would get no stars if I could rate that, specially because of the policies. We’ll find a new doctor here in Wilkes, and hopefully one that has an office that puts the patients first instead of ridiculous rules like this one has."
