Turning Point

"As a former employee-9/29/23-and a domestic violence survivor, I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed working in the second chance boutiques in Monroe and Indian Trail. As a survivor myself, it meant more to me than just a job when I was able to make a difference and give back to a community that I once, and will always be a part of. Unfortunately, I personally witnessed extremely disturbing behavior by certain individual who are involved in the running of the store operations. The behavior I witnessed is nothing short of DISGUSTING and INEXCUSABLE!!!I love this organization and what it does. I loved how many wonderful customers and other employees and volunteers that I have met that it impacted my life and hopefully I impacted theirs. I refuse to remain silent about what goes on when it comes to the operation of the boutiques and how it is run, and how it is handled. I hope that someone sees this message who truly cares about this organization, what it stands for and wants to do the right thing, instead of just brushing under the carpet and letting it continue to happen. thank you to all that work there and all the volunteers and everyone that I've met along my journey working here. I'm truly grateful for everything that I've experienced here and all the people I've met not to mention the women that I've talked into going to the shelter when they had nowhere else to go, I'm grateful to have something like that in this community that needs it so gratefully, thank you so much !"

"Terrible place I thought this was a place for helping woman but they are more on the greedy side. I left my school stuff for college there and they took it I spoke with someone name Jackie she is by far the most uncaring person I’ve ever Encountered. She spoke to me as though I didn’t matter and my belongings wasn’t there anymore. Please be mindful that these people get donations and help from the outside but is selfish they keep things for themselves!!! I do not recommend do not be fooled by Jackie the new director she’s a fake and coward! Currently talking to a lawyer on suing for my school supplies reimbursement!! Thieves!!!"

"They listened to me, believed me when nobody else seemed to, and were a huge source of comfort and encouragement. Union Co "justice" system is a nightmare (been waiting to have my case resolved for 7 years), but Turning Point is a light in the darkness. So thankful for them all!"

"Favoritism even if your children are well behaved. Most of the women returned to there abusive environments simply bc they were not at peace here. Me and my children were well behaved and we still had to leave bc of minor things. They write you up and dont tell you until they want you gone. I wish more minorities would speak out about their experiences here. I also hope the head administrators would step in and contact some of the former residents so they could find out the facts."
