"Went in for a scheduled preventative care procedure today. Was greeted upon arrival and every person, receptionist, nurse, anastigiolost, doctor, and volunteer was friendly, informative, and acted like they cared about my experience. Thank you!"
"No respect to civilians. Makes you wait in the emergency room for hours no matter what your condition is. Spite being a branch off of Duke, one of the best hospitals in the world, this hospital is the worst hospital in the world. Girlfriend was assaulted while in their care, (and while under watch, hand a single man with her alone during night?!) and coerced her while talking to police. Place needs to be investigated and shut down."
"IF YOU HAVE AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE...DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! I don't normally go to this hospital if I can help it anyways, but I was on my lunch break from work and went to get a tweak I had in my back checked out. I checked in at 10 a.m. I got triaged within the first 30 minutes and then told the doctor would see me soon and sent back to the waiting area. While sitting in the waiting room, I watched the people who were already there when I arrived AND people who came in after me, come and go. Finally at around 1:30, I went to the registration desk to ask if there was a problem. I was told that it looked like they were waiting on the doctor and told if I had any other questions, to knock on the door to Triage. So, I sat back down and waited another 30 minutes before I knocked on the door. There were 3 nurses surrounding the computer and I ask them what was happening. One asked my name and when I told her, another nurse pointed at something on the screen (I'm assuming my outstanding balance). I was told to have a seat for few more minutes while they figured out what was going on before the door was shut in my face. About two minutes later I was called back and told that "somehow my name got kicked out of the system" and he apologized for the mistake. Needless to say, he decided, without even taking a look at my back that it was muscular so he wasn't going to order any x-rays or a CT Scan. He recommended that I go to my primary care physician or get a massage. I understand that hospitals are allowed to refuse care if you owe them money but to make you sit in the waiting room so long until you decide to leave, like I saw some people do, is just ridiculous! Makes me wonder if this is why I've heard this hospital referred to as "Murder Parham." Smh."
"Tacky and disorganized. Nearly all "private triage" was done in the waiting area. My Dad was in extreme pain and was questioned about pain levels, insurance...etc in the waiting area. It was not super busy, just 5 others in the lobby area. Finally a plemobomist came out to draw blood. (Photo attached) in the waiting room. The only indignity he did not suffer was providing a urine sample right there in the open. I am blown away by the lack of professionalism. In the regular triage area two nurses were munching on Bojangles and going through the motions. An aide came out to get insurance information, again in the lobby. She asked questions, SS#, ins info...etc and typed into a bright yellow tablet. Later she literally gave the tablet to another patient to fill out their own information. That patient went outside to smoke while using the tablet, presumably with my Dad's and other patients personal information on it. Clearly a HIPPA violation. He could have gone to his car and stolen the tablet. After making a scene ( 6 hours later ) in the emergency room lobby my Dad was finally taken in the back to a room and saw a doctor. Nearly ALL rooms were empty and staff was busy putting up holiday decor. He was admitted, nearly 12 hours after we arrived and needed surgery. This is a disgusting, unprofessional, unclean environment. At one point a man lay on a gurney in the hallway in the emergency room. He was moaning and crying out for help. I asked the LPN to help him (she was busy wrapping pillars with garland) She actually screamed at me and said i was not supposed to step out of the room to look at the distressed man, and said i was in violation of HIPPA. This big, hulking woman charged at me in an angry, violent manner. She was more upset at my calling her out than the man still groaning in pain. BTW, there were at least 4 rooms available, that the man could have been put in...only beds were unmade. STAY AWAY, the staff here are ghetto bunnies, two clicks away from hair bonnets, bedroom slippers and a crack pipe. In a word 'ratchet'"
"My husband and I came into the hospital because he was in a lot of pain. We checked in and waited a while to be seen. Once we got into the back to be seen in the emergency room, I filled out paperwork while my husband answered the nurses questions. After another long wait to see the Dr. he finally came in, he ordered blood work drawn, IV & medicine for pain and CAT scan. We waited another long while then the IV was put in with medicine. After yet another wait my husband was taken for his CAT scan, he was brought back about 45 minutes to an hour later. During the next 2 hours we waited for the doctor to return to give the results of the CAT scan my husband napped while we waited for the Dr to return. When the doctor did return, he said that kidney stones were the culprit. The doctor prescribed medication to pass the stone and for pain. We had to wait another hour or so to get my husband's IV removed. After a total of roughly 5 hours we were able to leave. We went the next day to fill my husband's prescriptions. When we got to the Walgreens pharmacy the pharmacist informed us that that the ER doctor didn't sign the prescriptions, so even though my husband was in pain we had to go back to the hospital for the doctor to sign the prescriptions. That was done in a timely manner at least 20 or 30 minutes, but this was totally unnecessary. It should have been done that night at the emergency room. Then we have to go back pharmacy to get prescriptions filled. We understand that emergency room care takes a while because we weren't the only patients that needed to be seen. Out of five hours of time we were there my husband care only would have taken hour and half, at most !It was totally unnecessary that we had to come back to get the doctor to sign the prescriptions! Especially with my husband being in so much pain that was absolutely ridiculous!"
