"I am a Wood Craftman. This was the first time I participated in The Festival of Fresco's. We had a fantastic day. The fine parishioners of Glendale Springs Episcopal Church made us feel like family. Hollywood could not create a more picturesque location. The Autumn weather was very pleasant. My wife worked my booth with me and we were kept busy with many patrons and all complimentary. Can't wait to go back next year"
"This was a pleasant, non-touristy stop. There is a recording you can play ( button is just inside the entrance) that shares information about the frescoes. Don’t miss the frescoes in the basement; go outside and around for entrance. They do accept donations to support preservation of the church and frescoes, but absolutely no pressure. Otherwise, there is no entrance fee. GPS lists this as being in West Jefferson, NC, but it’s actually in Glendale Springs, NC. HOWEVER, the GPS does take you to the right location."
"Great place to come and contemplate, went on a weekday, very quiet. The frescoes are beautifully done!"
"Beautiful fresco of the Last Supper with an informative audio description. Don’t miss the fresco in the lower level and the columbarium."
"A small gem in the mountains. The frescoes are amazing. When you walk in you can feel the spirit. It felt so good we prayed and gave thanks for all God has done in our lives and for the most wonderful gift of all, Jesus. My wife and I truly enjoyed the experience. It's truly a small wonder and worth a visit."
