Reviews of UNC Health Southeastern
"I waited in the waiting room for 15 hours hurting in pain. I'm a cancer patient. They treated me like I was a drug head. They gave me nothing to help my pain. Then when I finally got to a room the doctor called for security to come search my room cause the doctor had suspension about me doing drugs all night. What in the world I have never done drugs a day in my life. And guess what security found right nothing. I feel I was treated like this because I'm white and my husband is black. No body else had their rooms searched. It's ridiculous how they treat you. And then my daughter rights a review saying this same thing I'm saying to let people know and they took hers down. Cause they know they were wrong......"
"Its ridiculous if you are not a drug head but get treated like one. Its even more ridiculous if your a married couple and you get treated like a drug dealer and crack head just because your black and white couple. I cant stand Southeastern hospital. Somebody who has never did drugs in their life you accuse them of doing drugs in the hospital room just because of their color. That's wrong!!!!!!! My mother has never been a crack head nor my step dad. And that's how they get treated."
"C.N.A' S, Disrepectful !!! And, really do not want to do their jobs properly. And, their supervisor, will not show up, when ask to see ? So, I guess, they approve of this type of care to patients. ( From their staff. ). They don't care !!! C.N.A'S Don't either !!! Nurses, do their jobs well. Food Staff, does an EXCELLENT JOB !!!"
"I was in the er and the nurse didn’t care at all how much pain I was in first of all. Finally, the NP seen my results and ordered a stronger pain med. I had a tear in my aorta. This cause severe pain. I was moved to icu on BPdrip medications. I was titrated off to move to step down unit. I was taken off those meds and put on tablets at 1pm told to get up and walk, and my blood pressure wasn’t checked anymore in icu. I was moved to 7 th floor which I should’ve been in step down 3 rd floor cardiac. I had descent care on the 3 rd floor. I left the day after Christmas and wasn’t given enough pain meds to last until January 1st. 20 pills to last from the 26th until the first when you take 6 a day clearly isn’t the correct amount I was sent home with. On the 30th, I to come back to the ER due to my bp not going down and being in severe pain. I stayed in the er waiting for a room until that morning. Around 8am. Finally got up to a room and no one approached me until almost 45 minutes later and the bathroom light was out. It did get fixed after lunch. My bp was suppose to be u see 120/80 and they are telling me 134/87 is good! How? And the fact I have to ask for my pain meds because they aren’t scheduled. The doctor comes in and tells me I have barbiturates in my system when I was given something over the past weekend which should be in my chart. I don’t take anything except what was given by them. So my next question is did he even read my chart from last week to see what I was given before he asked me about barbiturates in my system? This concerns me. They truly need more management over care here in this hospital before they get sued. I truly want to get a lawyer for how I was done. And I wasn’t given a choice from ems to come here or go elsewhere."
"To the Hospital Directors and Pharmacy Supervisors: There should be more concern when discharging patients without all medical supplies provided. Especially when those medical supplies are life saving. In all my years I have never experienced anything like this from any hospital. There should be protocols in place where medication and supplies are checked by staff before the patient exits the pharmacy especially for the elderly. To the kind Charge Nurse: I want to say thank you for showing so much concern, even speaking with my mom with such a caring tone explaining how to administer the medications. To have so many patients and still be able to make that one patient feel as though you are assigned only to them. God Bless you and thank you again."
