"I wanted to really like this place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, however, after several visits here over the course of the last couple months and being able to compare the accuracy or the legitimacy of testing and diagnosing and my mind is made up, we will not be back. They were fine for doing testing that required equipment but the different diagnoses given from various FNPs and doctors there and the rationale for them were absolutely ludicrous. To give examples, one diagnosis was given with zero basis to support it. It literally felt like they were both frustrated and had to diagnosis them with SOMETHING. Some diagnoses were so broad and nonspecific and what's laughable and so sad for us was that there were zero tests done to support that diagnosis!! For one where a far-reaching diagnosis was given, the tests that were crucial to support this diagnosis were negative. And then we were told that we had to begin treatment which happened to be inappropriate and actually created an obstacle to getting to the true diagnosis. All stars would be given to the nursing staff and supportive staff but as far as the MDs and FNPs here, you all have really confirmed how I have felt about adult ERs and now I have lost faith in pediatric ERs. I was told we should have gone to the other children's hospital and I'm sincerely kicking myself for not only wasting my children's chances of recovering sooner but for subjecting her to ridiculous practices and a severe financial burden from Novant for mediocre care from professionals we should have been able to trust. And just a heads up, if your child needs scans, the machines are shared with the adult ER, so expect to wait an entire day watching them in agony waiting for the machines. Also, arm yourself with knowledge beforehand and while waiting, when you have to sass them about testing recommended by the pcp, you wonder why you even bothered. But I do have to give a shout out to ALL the nursing staff, scanning techs and staff and literally anyone we encountered during these visits except the professionals who ultimately "diagnosed". I hate to have to give a one star when we had so many people make it as pleasant to be there as possible but the lack in judgment and medical skill/knowledge has really shaken me to the core considering children are involved."
"I will recommend Novant for any emergency you will come across to. Their service meets all high standard and ethical values. Today my little daughter is recovering very well."

I had my baby here almost 2 years ago now the doctor who delivered her amazing but everyone else ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZED ME I am still on Zoloft because I was so depressed based off how they treat me and my baby I went in and the lady told me I wasn’t in labor I was just fine and I needed to go home so I went home then not even three hours later I went back because I was in really bad pain and I could feel the pressure yes this was my 1st child but I knew what to look for then They make me wait in the waiting room while other people went in front of me and they took almost 15mins to even tend to me when my water broke because she wasn’t sure I mean I’m not gonna just stand there and pee on my self lady but so we finally get to a room then I asked for and epidural because I was hurting so bad and the nurse kept telling me stop yelling so loud THE PAIN ISNT THAT BAD mind u she never had a child so how would she know so I had to have 9 epidurals because the same nurse from before was holding me and kept moving so she could put her but in my baby fathers face so the other doctor kept missing the spot he had to get to in my spine he then proceeded to leave the epidural in my spine and it was wrong I didn’t have any numbing and this was with number 8 then when he came back to the 9th one he left it on my spine wrong once more yes my legs where numb but I couldn’t move my shoulders or my neck I begged them cried to them please take my epidural out because I was in more pain than the labor it’s self So labor starts I’m ready to push I CANT BECAUSE OF THE EPIDURAL I COULDN’T MOVE MY NECK OR SHOULDERS so then my baby couldn’t breathe I couldn’t breathe ended up having to have an emergency C-section my baby father nor mother was in there they threw away my placenta that I wanted to keep and it was in my birthing plan and the sewed me up horribly and they used to much of the numbing stuff they use because here it is almost 2 years and my stomach is still numb Now baby is here they did not clean her for 3 days I literally had to call my mom crying because they had switched over my medication for my pain from c-section and they did not inform the new nurse so I was in horrific pain for almost 6 hours my mom had to threaten to call the director of the hospital just to get them to wash my baby and actually take some type of care for me I CRIED WHILE WRITING THIS THINKING ABOUT THE PAIN AND THE CARE AND THE MENTAL PROBLEMS THEY REALLY CAUSED ME THE BACK ACHES I STILL HAVE THE SHOULDER AND NECK PAIN THAT I STILL HAVE I WANTED MORE KIDS BUT I AM TO SCARED BECAUSE WHAT IF THE SAME THING HAPPENS NEXT TIME THIS HOSPITAL LEFT ME TRAUMATIZED AND FULL OF DEPRESSION AFTER THIS LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE ONLY THING GOOD WAS DOCTOR WILSON I THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME AND MY BABY"
"Left this review on their ER page as well. *Warning-Long review* I would leave 0 stars if I could. I went in because my 2mo baby had a cough, difficulty/labored breathing, mucus, and a face rash. The night before he had woken up gasping for air. The waiting room was gross, looked it hadn’t been cleaned in a WHILE. When we got back to triage, nurses were very unsympathetic and rough with my baby who was a preemie as is still quite small. They kept telling him to hush for crying when he’s getting moved and jerked around and poked with things. We were then brought back in a room. His oxygen was low and he had a slight temperature. The room we were in was also disgusting. It had trash from the previous people and the floors and walls were filthy and I don’t think the bed had been changed in between. The TV was on max volume, which was making my baby cry more and the remote was under the bed so it took me a while to find it. The doctor that came in was from regular ED, not children’s. He looked him over. That was literally it. Didn’t examine anything except listened to him for about 10 seconds. Said he had some sort of virus and to take him home and just treat his symptoms, though our pediatrician told us he wasn’t quite big enough for meds like Tylenol. I had to ASK him to test for viruses. Even though they just told me he had one….because he said unless they’re really having trouble breathing (he wasn’t at this particular moment, but the wheezing started again once we got back to the car), they can’t really do anything. Just watch and wait and bring him back if he gets worse. Didn’t answer anything about the mucus, mouth rash, etc. Told me to keep him hydrated even though I said he hadn’t wanted to nurse or take a bottle in a while and seemed dehydrated. When I reiterated this, he said “well sometimes they won’t eat as much but that’s okay.” I was confused and kinda mad because this didn’t help anything. Our discharge nurse was the only nice person for pretty much the whole visit. They gave us discharge paperwork that was literally blank except “unknown URI.” They sent us home before we even got the test results back. Said it wouldn’t change anything. No one told me how to leave the ED once I walked out of the room so a nurse yelled at me for going the wrong way, while I’m carrying a child in a car seat, my purse, and a diaper bag by myself. The rest of the experience with the receptionists and public safety outside the ED was just as horrible and no one wanted to help me. They all were just sitting on their phones. Literally 5-6 security guards just sitting at one desk and no one could/would take me back to my car on the other side of the hospital. So I walked by myself around the outside of the hospital, crying, in the dark behind the hospital waste and dumpsters to get back to my car because they wouldn’t let me go through the inside of the hospital the way I came in (lady from front desk walked me to the children’s ED from the front entrance when I got there). By the time I got to my car, my son was coughing more, crying, and the breathing was worse. Ended up finding out from a different doctor that he had HSV from a kiss from a family member that was done behind my back. But this hospital didn’t test for it. I left so upset, scared, and confused, with an even sicker child. Luckily he is getting the care he needs now but this was one of the worst experiences of my life. No one seemed to want to help. I also got the bill just a few hours later. I should’ve listened to the previous reviews but because my husband works for Novant, I wanted to try this one before Levine. And I’ve been to this hospital for other things and never had any issues. But what everyone said in previous reviews is true, DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE. If I could do it all over again, I never would step foot back in that place and would’ve taken my son to the other place first, before he needed more emergency care. Please, if you all really care about children like all your posters say you do, DO BETTER."
"I have to give a really big thank you to the Doctors & nurses that worked yesterday! My child has been battling an ongoing issue and in the first time in a solid year he finally got some REALLY Quick relief. No long wait , no hesitation to make sure my child got the care needed."
