"We had gone to Petco during one of the Adopt An Angel event to adopt a kitten. We had looked at the options and decided upon a cute little cat. Then one of the volunteers had given us the paper work to fill out. Once we finished filling out our paperwork, it took about 1 hour 30 minutes to finally get to talk with the staff about the adoption. However, the lady we spoke to was very rude and had refused to let us adopt because “we would harm the cat by allowing it outside.” She argued that because we wrote “inside or outside” on our paperwork, we couldn’t get it. This had upset not only me, but my siblings who were extremely excited to finally have a pet in the house."
"I adopted my cat through the system and it was very organized. I loved it. They were so nice to me and we were updated regularly about him. It was really nice"
"Me and my friend and her bf went to go look at kittens because they were wanting to adopt. right away the lady who was helping them was extremely rude and belittled them. she made remarks about them being young and in college and that adopting a cat was a 15 year commit, which we all obviously know. she asked them where the cat was staying and my friend said the cat would be in a one bedroom apartment and the landlord allows the residents to have 2 pets. The lady assumed that my friend lived in the apartment alone but her boyfriend clarified that it’s his apartment but my friend (his girlfriend) stays there but has a dorm at uncw. she started flipping out automatically and calling them liars and put the adoption papers down and told them they are not allowed to adopt from them. my friends bf was trying to explain the situation about how the cat would be staying at his apartment but his gf stays there to and it would be their cat together. the lady was not having it at all and was yelling at them. it was extremely rude and made us all feel very uncomfortable. this lady literally ruined my friends day because all they wanted to do was adopt a cat, especially because a lot of those cats are rescues and they would be giving it a loving home. i’ve personally never seen a person act like that before and am still completely in shock. please check all your options before stepping into this place. absolutely ridiculous."
"I adopted two cats from AAA about 5 years ago and I have fostered 70+ cats for Adopt an Angel. I love this organization and all that they do for cats. They are affiliated with Fix a Friend which helps all the surrounding counties with low cost pet spay and neuter. I am so lucky to have found them. I foster under Melinda and the cat's best interest is her first priority. We devote so much of our time in hopes that these animals get to go to good homes. We are not paid. We are volunteers and have our own jobs and lives. We spend our own money to care for these animals. We are caring for cats that are not ours in hopes that they will find loving homes. We do our best to help these babies that have been dumped and left to suffer."
