"My son has been at this school since kindergarten and now he is 5th grade about to graduate. Our experience overall was great the when Mr. Evan was the principal. He was very warm with the children and families who attended Reedy Creek Elementary. However, it has changed for the worst because the current principal Ms. Yanello. She is extremely rude and unwelcoming to parents who express concern about their child's academic well being. My son was chosen for an academic program since he did well in his m- class assessment. Unfortunately, Ms. Yanello stated that he did qualify for additional enrichment programs that were provided by the school, since he was an transfer student. She further explained that all students who were transfer students could not attend academically enrichment programs. I was appalled by her response and it was very disheartening to know that my son was discriminated and prohibited to attend a program that he was recommended for by his teachers, solely because he was a transfer student. As a result, my daughter who currently attends this school will not return to Reedy Creek Elementary next year, because i would hate for her to encounter the same biases my son has encountered. I want to warn all parents to be aware of discrimination that your child might encounter if you opt to transfer your child to this school."
