"Overall, my daughter has had a wonderful experience at this school. In particular, out of the 4 teachers she's had, 3 have been FANTASTIC, and the 4th was still a really good teacher. The only honest, negative feedback we can give is with the busing system and with fundraising. The bus is late (typically 30 minutes) AT LEAST once a week on average...and often times it is late 2-3 times a week. While the school does usually call, it has become a major issue when trying to get to work in the mornings. Also, as other reviews have stated, there ARE ALOT OF FUNDRAISERS. They are structured such that the kids get rewards for raising more money. They are very frequent (and as most parents do, we lean on the same people to contribute in each one, grandparents, etc.) They glorify the rewards so much that my daughter gets REALLY sad and upset if she is unable to earn, for example, a limo ride, and all her friends get to go without her. The fundraising program uses this to almost force parents and grandparents into donating so that their kids do not feel alienated and left out. I HONESTLY DONT KNOW HOW WE WILL DO IT ONCE WE HAVE MULTIPLE KIDS IN SCHOOL AT ONE TIME! As soon as one fundraiser is over, another begins immediately. It truly is overwhelming. THE SCHOOL SHOULD REMEMBER WE ALSO PAY TAXES TO SUPPORT OUR PUBLIC SYSTEMS. It is often hard to see where the $25,000 that some of these raise goes, and what the money contributes to. It OBVIOUSLY doesn't go to busing. IT IS VERY EASY TO RANT WHEN SOMETHING UPSETS US. I should fairly reiterate....MY DAUGHTER HAS HAD A WONDERFUL EDUCATION EXPERIENCE OVERALL. HER TEACHERS HAVE BEEN OUTSTANDING TO SAY THE LEAST!!! Each one has left their own positive impression on her. They have nurtured her special needs and we've really seen her develop a love of learning AND a LOVE FOR SCHOOL that is priceless. My wife and i have honestly chosen NOT to pursue our own opportunities and move, because we are so fortunate to be in this school. Overall, back off the fundraising, and the educational experience here would be near flawless."
"Good luck with this school, I should have listen to the previous reviews. My family just move to this state, therefore, this is our kids first time attending the school. Just like most parents I reviewed the comments, but decided to give the school a chance. Big mistake I could've ever made! The principal is nonresponsive to parents concerns, it literally take an act of congress to address even minor concerns. Also, it appears this school still have a racist mentality. Any kid with color to their skin will not be treated as an equal to the white kids. Their quick to take your money but could care less about your child if they are not white. This is 2018 and this school is a disgrace!"
"As the mother of a special needs child, I feel the need to warn all parents to be very wary of this school. My non verbal autistic son went here for a couple months. Came home with a new bruise multiple times a week. Well, when he happened to ingest a toxic plant (2 bites out of it) in the schools office with the teacher in a one on one situation and I was not notified till AFTER the school day by the lousiest excuse for a teacher I've ever seen. Who casually mentioned "you might want to watch him, he got into a toxic plant." Didn't tell us what the plant was or the symptoms to watch for. The nurse made sure to call and tell about the bruise on his head from "walking" into a fire extinguisher but couldn't be bothered when it was detrimental to his health. They didn't seek further medical guidance, didn't call poison control. Changed their versions of the story multiple times. After going to an attorney, school board, and board of education my son is safe, happy and striving at his new school. IF YOU HAVE A SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENT, DONT SEND THEM HERE. MY SON WAS IN PAIN AND THEY JUST CHALKED UP ALL THE SIDE EFFECTS FROM THE PLANT TO HIS AUTISM. THEY COULD HAVE KILLED MY CHILD. If I could rate this with negative stars I would."
"Great team and school program"
"Wonderful system!"
