Juniper Tree Education is a non-profit institution located in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to providing a progressive educational option for elementary aged children. Our program focuses on guiding children to acquire skills that will inspire a lifelong love of learning, rather than simply memorizing facts. Our outdoor and indoor classrooms are nestled under a canopy of oak trees in the SouthPark area, blending standard-based instruction with the natural environment. We value mixed-age, nature-based play and emphasize a growth mindset and progress over perfection.

At Juniper Tree Education, we strive to create a cooperative, inclusive, and participatory learning community that embraces diversity. Our curriculum includes outdoor free play, language arts, math, reading, interest-based projects, science, social studies, and art. We also teach children nonviolent communication and restorative practices.
