"Sara Propst is a terrible provider that knows absolutely nothing about real trauma and more than likely will re traumatize anyone who experienced terrible abuse, as Cherokee Health Systems clinicians from the top down would rather protect their egos by telling themselves the client was resistant to treatment, which is why they abruptly stop instead of acknowledging the client was asking for longer sessions and more frequent appointments that are not two to three weeks out, as 30-minute sessions serve absolutely no purpose to anyone unless you just want to be heard. How it’s legal to give such short sessions to people with severe mental troubles in the state of Tennessee is beyond me. If you see a Cherokee Health clinician once every two weeks for a 30-minute session, you are going to see them for a total of 12 hours a year. You will not build trust with them in that time frame if you experience real trauma, so I recommend you go somewhere else. Providing high-quality, patient-centered care is our utmost priority, and we're sorry that your visit with us did not reflect this. We're looking into this situation internally and hope to solve matters promptly and accurately. We hope you can give us another chance to make things right. Sincerely, Cherokee Health Systems” I will not accept any copy-and-paste apologies regarding the care I received from Cherokee Health System because they do not make up for the years of subpar treatment I received or the time I lost waiting for brief sessions that, in retrospect, felt more like a checklist when I was in actual need of quality care and asked for it. Update after receiving this letter on Thursday, February 1, 2024. They make one statement: while they respond to reviews and undertake public relations, their private correspondence is their true character."

"I've always received top notch care from provider(s) & referrals to specialists. They offer Behavioral Health Therapy & other specific treatments. The staff is very welcoming & helpful. I've always been called back & seen within a few minutes of arriving for my appointment. The sliding pay scale helped me tremendously during the time before I was able to acquire health insurance again. The building in my Seymour area is easy access handicap accessible with very convenient parking. I recommend Cherokee Healthcare to anyone."

"My child was supposed to be scheduled for regular therapy sessions. They are only able to see them once per month. That is not frequent enough to build trust with a counselor, let alone make progress in therapy. A month is far too long of a wait for a child. By the time we make it to their appointment, we’ve forgotten what we discussed last time and have ten new things to discuss, and only 45 minutes to spend together until the next visit in another month. The therapist was great and caring, but the way they schedule was a waste of several months of waiting to finally get in. Very frustrated. We have attempted switching therapists and they have said the same thing…they have too many clients to see them on a more regular basis. Please stop accepting new patients that you cannot serve.
