"Just an objective observer, the 1 star review from Elora L. is duplicated on Yelp! and tracking from San Francisco, CA. Unless this patron moved several states away, she's rating the wrong center or the entire review is made up. Just wanted to put that out there for unsuspecting people since it's tanking the ratings."
"Loved them. The only reason I changed is because we live a town over and it wasn’t practical, travel wise. They are very responsive and helpful and genuinely seem to care about the kids! Loved this facility!"
"Carolina Academy is an amazing daycare. They love your kids like their own, help them learn, and are always there for their children and their families! I couldn’t ask for a different daycare."
"My son went to Carolina Academy from the time he was 18 months until he was almost 4. For the first 1.5-2 years things were great. But once my son entered the 3 year old classroom things went downhill. On several occasions, administration called me and demanded I come pick my son up early for, what they would describe as, rambunctious behavior. The behavior described was nothing out of the ordinary for a 3 year old, especially a 3 year old boy with some energy. These behaviors included standing on a chair, running around, not listening, and not wanting to stay on his cot for 2+ hours reading books. Typical toddler behavior. My fiancé and I had to abruptly leave work several times to pick him up because he was acting like a toddler. We had several meetings with administration and the owner, but nothing changed. Considering this daycare has camera’s in their classrooms, I asked to see the footage several times, every time being told no. If what they said about my sons behavior was true & nothing else happened, why was there such hesitation to share the footage? Why have security cameras if footage isn’t shown to parents when asked with probable cause? Later on, my son was suspended. A 3 year old, suspended from a daycare that I pay for him to be at. The suspension email was sent to me at 5 pm after I had already picked him up hours prior, so I didn’t respond to the email, as I didn’t see it and there was no follow up phone call. Something as serious as a suspension should have been a phone call in the first place. I walked into school with my son and was immediately rushed by the director telling me he could not be there and I needed to leave. I have 8+ years of daycare experience and am a certified teacher and never have I heard of suspending a 3 year old from a daycare. After his suspension he returned to daycare despite my hesitation. After calling to check on him at noon and being told he was a having a ‘much better’ morning, I received a phone at 1:45 saying he would not stay on his cot anymore (after staying on it quietly for over an hour) & he needed to picked up within 30 minutes. When I arrived to pick him up, I was greeted by a very rude administrator and I told her to collect his things as he wouldn’t be returning and requesting a phone call from the owner. They seemed very unwilling to have her call me and claimed she is rarely in. After speaking with the owner and requesting to see the footage of the behavior, I was again basically told no. She said she would review the footage and see if she ‘needed’ to show it to me. She said she has rarely shown parents footage in the past. Refusing to show me the footage tells me one of two things, either they’re lying about what happened, or something more happened that they are trying to hide. All in all, this daycare doesn’t make any accommodations for children. If your toddler has model perfect behavior, every second of every day, then you probably won’t have any problems. However, if your toddler acts like a toddler, I would highly recommend steering clear of this daycare."
"I am so overjoyed with this daycare!!! Parents are out for basic essentials that should come with childcare in our absence - safe, healthy learning environments!!! This is much more!! Due to VERY unfortunate circumstances at our previous childcare facility of 6 years, we were hesitant to have to start over. Sometimes kids don’t have to say a word, it’s all in their gestures we just have to pay attention and let things unfold. It was Devine intervention to land here with amazing staff and it’s genuine . I tell you what -It’s power in the change of environment !!. My two year old is so much happier and we have seen soooo much growth in him with in a months time from wanting to go to school , talking to all the Teachers and emotional balance !! We are sold!!!"
