"I have been trying to cancel for some time now, they have over charged me for MONTHS and the only answer to the problem is "we will leave a message for the manager". No manager has ever contacted me back or tried to make it right. They continue to charge me and refuse to cancel over the phone as they say it's not possible to do this. This seems purposefully convoluted and intentionally difficult."
"I cannot speak to other Code Ninja locations. This review is focused on the Summer Camps experience only - the daily/ongoing coding classes may be totally different. We signed up for 3 camps during the spring, all to occur in the summer. My son was very excited for them. I had to end up cancelling one as my son was invited to a sleepaway camp that conflicted - it took more than five email follow-ups and two phone calls to get agreement that we would get refunded. After months went by of the payment, we got a check in person and it was for $50 less than we paid. These are expensive camps at $425 per week. The main issue I had is my son's actual experience and then how the owner dealt with it. In the first camp, I don't believe even 50% of the objectives were met. My son said there were 1-2 teens there to run it, one didn't teach anything and they mostly played roblox games (the camp was intro to roblox coding). They did do some coding. My son indicated that the kids essentially screamed the whole time, the teens working did not corral them, and instead played loud music with curse words during the time. The second camp, I was reluctant of course. This was a "Becoming a YouTuber" camp. My son complained after day 1 that they did nothing but learn how to open an editing tool and then watched youtube videos the rest of the time (he says for half the day). The second day, more of the exact same. At that point, my son did not want to return and I engaged with the owner to report feedback of the experiences we had. My specific observations include: + the owner is just not present - he took months to communicate with me on refunding one of the weeks and I had to follow-up + I would drop off my kid and NO ONE would be at the front desk - I interacted with two other parents who were equally confused as to whether you just check the sheet and leave your kid to wander into the back + I dropped off and picked up multiple times, I saw the owner one time (the day he was supposed to give me the refund check) + When I complained, he read me the course curriculum and suggested he asked the teenagers if they did anything wrong... and then sent me a long email of all the things the teenagers said was happening I know kids and understand I may not have the whole story from my son, but my specific experiences with this owner would lead me to at least believe some of it - this owner is not present, he's not responsive, and he does not engage in basic customer service - I told him we weren't coming back (as of Tuesday, so missing 3 days of camp). I asked him to consider a partial refund since my son wasn't there the rest of the week. His email read me the objectives of the course, indicated he asked the teenagers if they were following the curriculum and confirmed they did, and offered me a discount on a future course. NO THANKS! We are never going back, discounted or not."
"Teachers were ok but they provided exceptionally poor customer service. I had to ask three times to pause my account and then canceled it after having such a poor experience that I no longer felt comfortable sending my son. They then confirmed I would not be charged for future sessions but continued to charge my credit card. Buyer beware!"
"Signed up 2 kids for 1 week of half-day Become A YouTuber camp at Code Ninjas for $400 total. For the first 3 days of a 5-day camp, the computer they gave 1 of my kids didn’t work properly….it wouldn’t let her record any videos - remember this is a becoming a YouTuber camp…. For the first 2 days, we assumed it’d be made right by the instructors. My wife spoke with an instructor on the 3rd day. His response was along the lines of the equipment being old and his not being able to do anything about it. I then reached out to the owner and he offered me a partial credit towards a future camp. After I explained that we wouldn’t be participating in any future camps and would appreciate a partial credit to resolve this failure to perform, he basically said that yes there was a delay in her getting functioning equipment, but we ended up receiving what we paid for. I disagree. We could’ve bought wastes of time for way less than $400. PS: on the last day of camp, my other kid arrived only to find out that all of his videos he’d recorded & edited had mysteriously disappeared. C’mon… Ended on a real high note here. PPS: let future buyers beware"
"Our son Michael was one of the first students signed up at Code Ninja's. We are so proud of him and his accomplishments since May of last year. Chris and Alice Beatson have a great program, Taylor Sobha is an outstanding director and we cannot say enough about the Sensei's. Yesterday Michael achieved the Green Belt level. We encourage parents to visit Code Ninja's in Morrisville and let their kids see what it's about. As the sign says 'Kids have fun, parents see results.'"
