"I went there for a while and you would think they would be really nice and they try, but often time I would land in trouble for a having different opinions and beliefs. I feel that the teachers are biased and overall, I hated it. I also had a special needs friend who was not given the care and attention needed, and considering this to be a very very small school, It could have been given. My christian friends and I all left the same year because of discrimination."
"This school is ok I guess. There are a lot of things that could be changed and improved. I like how it is a small school so you know everyone there and make good friends. The bad thing is......... since it is so small gossip is really bad. There is a lot of drama and when ever you do gossip the whole school will know the next day. Not trying to be mean or rude but I’m just stating the facts."
"The field trips are always so expensive for the poor parents that can't afford it. The field trips are also always something that the kids don't want to go to, and they don't learn anything resulting in a bad grade on a FIELD TRIP. The terrible staff that watches the kids at lunch never do anything when the kids tell on someone or want to get a ball/something to play with because it's from another room. The staff that's outside with the kids never watch them like a responsible adult, resulting in a lot of drama, injuries, kids doing bad things, etc. The principal is never there when a child needs to tell her something important, and the lady at the front desk is always on the phone and makes a line of kids that need a tardy slip. Most of the teachers that are actually nice have all ready left, leaving the school with grumpy teachers. If the people at the school found out who I am, they'd probably say that I'm doing this to be a bully, but trust me-- everything I'm saying is true, and I mean it in the most assertive way possible. The kids at the school are always calling me names like weird and annoying, and the kids are always so focused on dating and drama. The teachers always pick on students after they went to the principal's office for something extremely serious. The teachers gossip about kids when they do something wrong. One time a girl in 6th grade was sent to the principal for talking about her religion or something, and then in my class, some kids were talking up a storm about their religion in front of teachers and they did nothing. Well, that concludes my review of my daily trip to hell-- please don't force your kid to go here, and keep in mind, most of the good reviews are from parents that work at the school. Okay, that's all. Sincerely, A tormented teen."
"It is the almost the end of our second year at TMSC, and my boys are both are SO at home, here! The teachers are amazing and completely invested in thier students. The principal is beyond phenomenal! The expedition learning has, hands down, kept my kiddos completely engaged each and every semester. I've never been in an educational setting where everyone is genuinely happy to be there. This school has made an incredible difference in our lives! It is night and day compared to our public school experiences. I keep crossing my fingers that they'll add a high school by the time my almost middle schoolers need it! Truly, I cannot praise this institution and its' staff, enough!!"
"If you're seriously considering putting your child in this school, please take five minutes and thoroughly read this. I attended TMCS from the beginning of sixth grade to the middle of my seventh grade year. It very soon became apparent to me that this school is located over a vortex of hell. The beginning of my first year of middle school, it seemed alright; the teachers were polite, I didn't know anyone & that made it a lot easier for me to like my unfamiliar classmates. Towards the middle of my first year there, I got to know the students & staff a little better. It was very obvious that the teachers did NOT seem to care about (or like) their job. With the exception of a very small few, (who have also suffered greatly) students turned out to be hostile; even the younger students were clique-ish, overconcerned about appearances/relationship statuses, and had a very disappointing tendency to bully. (although most other schools in America may be much the same, this is still not okay. no, thanks.) On the topic of relationships, the school dances (AKA by me as "underaged romance support rallies") did nothing but fuel the fire of unnecessary drama. Beginning of my second year, I came to find out that ALL of the middle school teachers from the previous year had quit. They were replaced by less than experienced substitute-esque teachers, who were too often surprisingly absent. This change, along with the disgustingly unwelcoming, atmosphere caused a few other students to leave as well. I feel bad for the nice kids who are stuck there due to their parents' decision of enrollment. My experience at this charter school was entirely disheartening & tremendously detrimental to me. I've spent the last two years away trying to reclaim my faith in myself & in humanity. This may be a good fit for some people; but if you consider yourself evolved, you should be warned that you may be sending your child into a potential lions' den. Thank you for taking your time to read this. Sincerely, a formerly happy emo"
