"Wanting to avoid the hypercompetitive local hearing aid market I was pleased to find UNC's Hearing and Communication Center. Discovering that it was a training program was a plus. I knew I would not be rushed, be given all the tests warranted and that they would study my issue and dispense appropriate hearing aids. I set no conditions on the price and indicated I would pay what was necessary, as I was motivated. They recommended neither the cheapest nor most expensive brand and model, and what I immediately found satisfactory. Followups were comprehensive. I found that they wanted the best outcome as did I. Next appointment is in one year."

"Dr. Johnson was helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. The hearing aids and ancillary equipment were checked out thoroughly before the sale. My needs were satisfied and hearing improved. The diagnostic equipment for evaluating my hearing was very good. The processes for using the equipment were gone through thoroughly, with my full participation. An auxiliary piece of equipment that would not integrate with my home theater system was returned without any difficulty. The front office staff were friendly and helpful as well. The office is near the entrance on the first floor, so there's no access problem. Lastly, there weren't lengthy waits for appointments at the time I was scheduling with the center."

"II am very pleased with my new hearing aids from UNC Hearing and Communication. Several hearing tests were performed and a brand of hearing aid recommended for my level of hearing loss. Hearing aids were adjusted to my exact level of hearing loss using a computer. Two follow up visits are scheduled in case I need them adjusted further. My audiologist was excellent at testing, showing me how to use the hearing aids, and telling me what I could expect. My hearing is much better using these hearing aids—they are comfortable to wear and incidental noise is not a problem. I feel that UNC Hearing and Communication y is very professional and knowledgeable about all types of hearing aids and hearing problems."

"I could not be happier with my experience at UNC's Hearing and Communication clinic! Everyone of the staff I encountered was friendly and efficient. Dr. Weist could not be better. She trains audiology students. Each one of them was professional and easy to be comfortable with. I met with her and her colleagues, I believe, 4 times in the course of learning about, ordering, and receiving a new pair of Phonek hearing aids. One of the professional staff's definite strengths is that they explain things like complicated technology very well, very clearly. They were happy to ensure that the hearing aids were set up according to my preferences. I am very happy with the devices (rechargeable with the ability to select from multiple programs). I'm also pleased that the clinic offers video lessons on various aspects of hearing and communication which are useful and informative. Last, but not least, I like the fact that the clinic operates on the basis of paying for the services you receive rather than having an upfront all-in-one bundle price like most private practice clinics do. This saves the customer a significant amount of money, in my opinion. As you can gather, I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone. I believe you'll be very happy with the results!"
