"Vance is located in friendly West Asheville. It reflects the communities welcoming atmosphere. Every morning someone is at the front door to open your car door and welcome your child to school in the morning and often that someone is the principal Cynthia Sellinger. There is a large school garden maintained by parents and community and utilized for curriculum by teachers and classrooms. There is an open door policy to parents- Parents are welcome to come into school to volunteer, have lunch or recess with their child, all they need to do is sign in."
