Reviews of A Child's World Learning Center
"This place has gone downhill! My 9 year old went here from 6 months old until she went to kindergarten so I decided to continue with my middle child. Today I asked a simple question about a policy and was told by Lauren Hayworth the Chief Operations officer that I can make my child’s last day today if I can’t follow the policies and procedures. She also added someone who is also a parent into my situation which was very unprofessional and made me feel like it wasn’t safe for me to leave my child at this facility. She said she would not continue to debate when I only asked a simple question. I didn’t know that as a parent I didn’t have the right to ask questions. I even asked to speak to someone over her and the information was not given. She also said she was not going to spend time arguing with parents and I’m still trying to understand how me asking a question mean that I’m starting an argument. If this center is talking to me like that over a simple question I can only imagine what they are saying to the children. This is very sad!"
"Take the learning part out...No IQs go up here. 2 years later we still can't go inside. Don't know what the classroom looks like, don't know how how well the teachers interact with the kids. Dont even know these people. For one a 3 hour NAP?? Basic learning, no real teachers, temperamental women. Eh. Sick kids stay coming spreading germs, bad kids corrupting the good ones. Why are 4 year olds heading to pre K just now learning about the color 'Yellow' when they've already discussed Gold? God forbid your child uses the bathroom more than the usual. THEY WILL SIT IN IT more often than not believe me. Its not the followers, its the leaders. WAAAYYY better options out there . Everything downtown doesn't mean prestine. Know that. Dare if you will."
"DONT DO IT ! If you have a picky eater they will not take time with your baby. It's was days my LO hasn't ate all day and they won't even communicate that with me I would find out threw email after I picked her up and she cry starving!! and you can't bring food unless you bring it for the whole class. The GHETTO !! They don't provide NOTHING and took my LO clothes !!"
"I was an inter at ACWLC and the teachers I worked with isn't the infant/toddler and prekindergarten rooms were great. I enjoyed my time working with the children, teachers, and directors. Ms. Jo the current director was kind and I could tell the children loved her. I learned a lot there."
"I put my 2 year old at ACWLC beginning 2016, now that he's out I will say there were several incidents that caused so much concern I took him out. Everything seemed great, he was happy and learning new things, interacting with other children after being home with me for 2 years. A few months prior to taking him out they hired a new teacher for the classroom. Within the last 2 weeks I walked into her restraining my son by his leg forcing him to sit still while continuing to read to the other children. Her excuses were everywhere from not letting him go to other parts of the room because the room has to be cleaned by 6 o'clock so she could leave, to he cries if he doesn't get what he wants (was 2 years old), and others that simply aren't acceptable. When asked by the director Brandi what happened she failed to tell her she restrained him from moving. I approached Brandi the next morning asking if she spoke to "ms Avril" and she said yes but the only thing Avril had to say was that I came into the room asking why my child was so upset. It took about 5 minutes talking to both of them at the same time and me asking the teacher specifically if she held him down when she finally said "yes!" (With expression that she felt it was okay. Brandi then said that is not okay. And gave a suggestion that the children need 2 options at the end of the day so she could finish the cleaning that had to be done by 6. The last day my son was there I received a call at 10:15 stating my son needed a change of clothes, I was not at my phone and got the voice-mail at 12:15, got to ACLW at 12:30 and came into the room with my child asleep on a mat with WET UNDERWEAR AND WET PANTS. So that means for over 2 hours my son was in wet clothes in the middle of December. I also walked into other things like singing songs about holding hands (also Avril) and her YELLING at the children who didn't want to hold another child's hand!! Another was walking into her getting mad at my son for having a accident in his underwear throwing her hands in the air and yelling "are you serious he pooped!" I am glad he won't be going back. I did like more teachers than not, but I feel like the director Brandi was not worried about the new teacher in the older two's room. After she started working my son had a habit of saying "I wanna be good" even when he wasn't being "bad". By him saying that it made me feel like the teachers were installing in his mind that he was bad. Over all I don't recommend this place. $183 weekly and that's the kind of people they allow to work there. Don't send your child there if you want them growing up confident with their self and being kind to others. They will not learn those traits based on the experience we had with them."
