"I normally try not to write anything bad about health care services as I am a nurse and I know how difficult it can be. However, I had a new patient appointment and waited for about 30 minutes and I noticed that 2 other patients were sitting there and one looked like he was fit to be tied. Very fidgety and reading every thing he could get his hands on and huffing and signing, etc. And then out of the blue, the other patient said to me, I hope you are planning on being here for a while. I asked what did he mean (as I got off of work 2 hours early to come to this appointment and I had another appointment in a couple of hours to get to) and he said he had been waiting for over an hour and the other man said he had ben waiting for an hour and 15 minutes!!! They said it was like this every time they came! I was so alarmed. I went to the desk and asked if this was the case and if I was going to be waiting that long and they said “it just depends” and “we can’t tell you how long it will be” and “the doctor really takes his time with his patients!” I was stunned. All of my providers really take their time with me but I have never waited an hour in the waiting room and it was to be expected and the norm! I asked if I could reschedule and they said yes but there was no guarantee that I wouldn’t be waiting like that again (and reiterated that the doctor really takes his time with his patients). I finally just asked for my $70 copay back and they did it with no qualms and I appreciated that and I left. I can’t believe that the providers or the staff think that is acceptable. I felt so badly for the poor man who said he was supposed to be asleep because he had to be back at work in 3 hours! I could have understood if there had been an emergency or something but this is status quo for this office apparently."
"My HSA card is now being rejected by CVS and other doctors' offices because they insisted on putting a charge in advance of the procedure and I still haven't received an EOB form. I also left an urgent message for their on-call doctor at 1 p.m. the day before my scheduled procedure and, 28 hours later, it has yet to be returned, so I left a message cancelling the procedure and THAT call has yet to be returned."
"I needed to reschedule an appointment with Dr. Mandell(who, by the way is an excellent doctor), talked with his assistant who was going to check on the date I requested and give the dr. an update on my progress and get back with me on his instructions as what to do next. Never heard back from her!!!! I have left 5, yes 5 messages and no return calls!!! This is the most unprofessional drs. office employees I have EVER dealt with. .I guess at this point I will have to seek another Neurologist and somehow let Dr. Mandell know why I did not return to him. Disappointed because he is a wonderful doctor. Sandra McDaniel Whisenant"
"First phone call prior to the appointment was great. Dr was great. After the appointment, there was no follow-up (meaning no one called us with the appointments we needed and no out of work note sent). We called and they made us feel like we were and inconvenience. Dr requested my husband to stay home from work and no driving for 2 weeks while he adjusted to the medication, and when she finally called us back after 4 voicemails, she said the Dr doesn't recall having your husband out of work. We finally got the note approved and my husband was told they could not email to him, he would have to pick it up. So I call and explained that my husband was not suppose to be driving and I was working, so the note will be sent either by fax or email. They complied. I work in a specialist office and could not imagine this happening at our office. Very disappointed."
"I am having en EMG test done my appointment was at 3 which I was 15 minutes early for. I was called back by the nurse prior to my appointment which was good. Had the first portion of the test done. Have been waiting almost 1.5 hours for the doctor to come in and finish the second part of the test. I am a medical professional myself and this is totally unacceptable. I have not even been checked on, apologized to or told what the hold up is! I am BEYOND annoyed!"
