"Called this morning to say I was at the wrong office .. said I would get in the expressway to get there. I had time it was ten minutes til my appointment and I could have made it there. Before the 15 minutes cancellation marker. The tech chose to cancel my three hour scheduled appointment. She apologized but it does not change the fact that human error happens .. I had already checked in on my app and did everything I would Have only needed to walk in … so I will not reschedule there. Just my experience"
"I had a Saturday appointment for a head MRI no contrast. The hospital front desk was friendly and prompt in giving me directions to the Radiology department. The MRI technologist herself was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. What I didn't like. First: The individual who checked me in for my MRI was polite. She went through the steps to check me in including asking me to prepay the $1,300 for the MRI. I declined as I typically wait for my insurance to process the claim and send me the bill which I then pay online. The MRI was preapproved through my insurance. She then asked if I wanted to pay a $50 deposit. Again, I declined. I assume this is hospital policy to ask the patient to prepay. I have had similar experiences at the Dentist office. However, I felt like I was being pressured to prepay. Second: After walking me to the waiting room, she then asked if "I had to use the bathroom." I said no. She then proceeded to tell me where the restroom was located. A short time later, she did the same to the gentleman she had walked to the waiting room Suggestion: Rather than asking the patient "Do you have to use the bathroom?" Just politely point out where the restrooms are located nearby. No need to address adults like they are 5 years old."
"Told the hospital that the care I recieved was horrible. I went in with a gallstone pain that was 10/10 and had me throwing up in pain. I had to beg for nurses and help and had to wait long periods of time before even being helped. Had to throw up and begged for a throw up bad just to be told to throw up in the trash. I sent my complaint and they send me a letter back saying essentially "we investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong, sorry". Honestly this couldn't be more of a slap in the face. Couldnt even get a blanket or a comfortable chair for my significant other to sit in for the 15 hours I was there until the morning shift came back. Pretty much seals the deal of never touching this hospital again. All while they gladly took 16 thousand dollars from my insurance."
"Went to Novant Matthews for my yearly mammogram screening. First time having my screening done here but it won’t be my last. My experience here was really wonderful, which is impressive, because getting a mammogram is simply not what anyone ever wants to be doing. I feel the anxiety of “what if” they find cancer each year!!! I must say, Kelly at the check in desk and Evelyn, the tech, were outstanding! I expressed my anxiety and they treated me with the highest level of compassion and encouragement! This process was sooooo much less stressful than any mammogram I’ve had over the years. I’m so grateful for these two lovely ladies! They both obviously are dedicated to flawless, patient-centered care. Thank you!!!"
"Excellent Experience Was admitted on New Years Day. Only a 10 min wait for the triage nurse who was very friendly and compassionate. Another 10 min and sent back to an ER room. My 2 day hospital stay was the best hospital experience I have ever had. Everyone from the Nurses, Doctors, Aides, and Nutritiousness were courteous and extremely helpful. No one likes to go to the hospital unless needed, but if you need to go I fully recommend Presbyterian Hospital / Matthews."
