"I was recently involved in a fender bender and Jennifer Shapiro with Auto Owners helped with my claim. I had to file the claim through my insurance because the person that hit me was not insured. She worked incredibly fast on the claim and kept me updated through everything. Unfortunately they had to total my car, but Jennifer was able to offer me more than the Kelly Blue Book value for it. Plus her investigation found that the person that hit me was actually insured. She was very understanding, worked super fast to get everything processed, and was great with communication. I hate that I lost my car, but Jennifer made everything go as well as it could given the circumstances. I am thankful that I went with Auto Owners and that they have someone like Jennifer on their team."
"PLEASE READ!!! I had to share my experience again but with the full story. Absolutely terrible company. Denied our claims (multiple) to needing our roof replaced despite multiple roofers saying we did, and then threatened to drop us. But the roofers obviously want work too, so maybe we didn't need a new roof. Roughly 6 months later our ridge cap blew off, we had to pay out of pocket to have that replaced (we had a $2,000 deductible and to replace the ridge cap was around $1000 I believe). A couple months later we got a leak, I want to specify, not from the ridge cap, but the actual shingles were damaged (imagine that). By the time we noticed the leak it had started causing water damage to the interior of our home, we ended up paying over $5,000 restoration fees and had to deal with all kinds of fans for a couple weeks. For the restoration Auto Owners also came out and told us they would only cover repairs up to $2,030-2050 (this is an estimate I don’t know the exact amount, but it was no more than $50 over our deductible) so after our deductible they would pay $30-50. I wish I was making this up, my wife and I have since switched back to USAA (we had USAA prior to auto owners and switched for a lower rate, what a mistake) who have slightly higher rates, but they seem to be an ethical company. My parents had the same issue with their roof, they have state farm, who completely replaced their roof prior to any leaks or water damage occurring."
"I wish I couldn’t give any stars to this pathetic company!!! We have been dealing with the adjuster Samuel Rosiles since August 2023. We got into a car accident due to one of his insured clients hitting us. Each time we called him he said he couldn’t get in contact with the insured. Each time he asked us to send him paperwork that we sent to him numerous times, and he acted like he could never find it or it was the first time he ever seen it. We ask him to send a letter to the other party, but he always dragged his feet about everything or avoided communication with us.I even sent him a list of addresses and phone numbers of the other party. He seemed very disconnected and uninterested in solving our issues when we did speak with him, leaving us feeling unsettled. Here it is January 2024, and my fiancé just happened to call Mr Rosiles for a status update. Only to find out he finally got in contact with the insured party. He never contacted us with an update, especially since we’ve contacted him numerous occasions. Now we are still waiting from communication from although we have contacted him, still no response. We finally spoke to his manager William Conley and was asked to send him all the information we sent to Mr Rosiles. Again we are waiting, in the meantime we have accumulated medical bills that are now in collections which has all affected our credit. UNACCEPTABLE!!!"
"My husband and I were looking into home owner/car insurance as we buy our first house. After reaching out it was VERY delayed (understanding of the holidays). However, when getting a quote back there was an alleged ticket increasing our insurance. After asking for more details, they quoted me on the wrong person. Birthdate wasn’t the same (off by 20 years!!), address was different, different license number, NOTHING except my name aligned. The other person was even male… The fact no body caught that when I requested FURTHER information makes me thankful we will not be using Auto-Owners. I understand mistakes happen, but wow. Talk about poor customer service."
"Worst Experience. Adjuster, Steve hung up on me and refused to answer my calls despite multiple attempts. Despite coming to my house, the adjuster did not include the affected/damaged regions in his inspection. This is a serious health hazard for me and my family because mold is likely growing in the pipes and due to the sewage leak. But this company has refused to even take that into account. 4 out of 5 reviews are horrible 1 star reviews."
