Reviews of Sunrise Community Farm Center
"We had an amazing two-hour experience at Sunrise Community Farm Center. Justin was incredibly patient with our 6-year-old, who had numerous questions throughout the visit. Highlights were the horseback ride with Spence and animal feeding sessions. Spence's extensive knowledge and his emphasis on treating animals with respect made a lasting impression. If you're in the area, I highly recommend a visit to this farm."
"I question why animal control hasn’t done anything about this farm. My self and many others have witnessed dangerous and abusive behavior towards the animals here. There is/used to be a large bin of dead animals in one of the barns. Including rabbits, chickens, guinea fowl, and who knows what else. I was told it was for compost but I’m quite sure that’s not safe. Especially because there was also animal feed in the barn. There are also horses that are related to each other that have been bred. Horses have also been severely injured and the owner Spence has refused to give them proper medical attention. Just because the horses on this farm aren’t starving doesn’t mean there isn’t abuse going on. When I took lessons there I was taught dangerous behavior and was allowed to jump large jumps in a western saddle. I was injured and quite a few others as well. Y’all don’t support this anymore we need to do better for the sake of the kids being thought dangerous behavior and for the poor horses and other animals that don’t deserve this anymore."
"I attended Spences Farm, know called Sunrise Community Farm Center. It was real interesting being there. When it was cold, even below 30 degrees we were not allowed to go inside the house and when it was raining. We had to stay bundled up over the big tent. It was not an pleasant experience. Some of the staff where nice, but this one girl in particular had a very bad potty mouth and just didn`t give a damn. The vans that gave us rides where junk, I was not in the van but I do know the van caught fire. There is even an article about all the bad things that happened. I hope Sunrise is better than Spences Farm. I can go on and on but will not air anymore dirty laundry."
"I decided to look up farms in the area and came across Sunrise. My boyfriend and I took his 6 year old. My expectation was we'd be there for about an hour and that turned into 4 hours. Fortunately, we packed a lunch with the plan to stop at a park but ended up eating at the farm. My boyfriend's daughter loved interacting with the animals and enjoyed riding a pony. She also loved the zip line and I think would like to try swimming in the pond next time (we didn't have swim suits). She wants to know when we plan to go back!"
"The staff was patient and kind with my 3yr old and getting him acclimated with the animals! He had a horse ride that he loved and learned about all the animals. We found that being around other children helped him become more comfortable with the environment. A great time was had by us all"
