Moonrise Distillery is an award-winning distillery located in Clayton, Rabun County, Georgia. Using traditional methods from the 1850s, we focus on double-distillation to create refined and complex craft spirits. Our distillation method and exceptional local ingredients result in a smooth and rich vodka, which has won a Gold Medal at the Georgia Trustees Wine and Spirits Competition. Our gin, created from a special herb bill of 14 unique botanicals, offers a unique blend of flavors and aromas.
For bourbon lovers, our Georgia Bourbon Whiskey is aged a minimum of four years in 30-gallon barrels, producing deep, rich flavors. We also offer a range of bourbon whiskeys, including Distillers Select and Single Barrel options, each with its own unique characteristics.
In addition to our spirits, we also offer Italian Limoncello and brandies made with aged Cabernet, Sangiovese, and Petit Verdot, blended with fresh fruit and local honey. Our newly renovated speakeasy bar provides a cozy and relaxing atmosphere for enjoying our handcrafted spirits.

"LOVE this spot! If you are in the Clayton area, this is a must-visit! The establishment is tucked up on a hill and is very lovely inside and out. They make all of their liquor on site and you can even take a private tour of the facility. There are two bars and a gift shop where you can taste before you buy. My personal favorite is the Snow Cream. It's like Bailey's Irish Cream (but 10 times better!). They have a wide range of fantastic cocktails and be sure to check out their new martini menu. Every Friday night they host Music Bingo with a DJ and it's a blast! I've been several times and have never been disappointed. The energy and vibe is fantastic and everyone has a great time. Just a tip: There are just a few food items available to purchase, so you may want to eat in advance or bring something with you to snack on. The owner keeps his two adorable dogs behind the bar and they have a ton of fun back there and occasionally interact with the guests. And don't forget to say hi to my favorite bartender in town, Teddy! She's the best and so is this spot! "We had a blast there. Jennifer was an amazing hostess. We tried their Bourbon Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, Limoncello and Snow Cream. We left with a bottle of their Bloody Mary (premixed), two Bourbon Whiskey, Limoncello and Snow Cream. All were very good. I'm sure we'll be back for more, especially the Snow Cream."
"North Georgia destination at it's finest! The moment we walked in we were greeted by Jennifer and made us feel as comfortable as family. The tasting and tour with Doug was amazing he shared knowledge and his passion for making the best products using local sources. After the tasting we understood the differences in bourbon, but more importantly we tasted the difference, smooth is an understatement! The Snow Cream bourbon is simply one of the best drinks you will ever enjoy! Can't wait for our next visit! Sunday Funday was amazing with some great music, a real find for us!"
