Reviews of Yellow Branch Falls
"Very neat looking waterfall. The main parking area was full so we parked on the looping side road which worked, but there was a problem. Someone marked a large rock on a trail right by where we parked saying "trailhead.". It was most definitely not the trail head. We followed it till it disappeared and went 0.6 miles out of our way. When we got to the main area, the picnic tables with a sign out front, I thought there would be a map showing the trail and where the start point is, but there wasn't a map. I wandered around the picnic tables and then stumbled upon the nicely signed trail. Once on this correct trail, the trail is lovely and very well kept. It's 3.5 miles round trip which is great because it doesn't get super crowded since it's a bit of a hike to get to the falls. The trail is pretty easy overall, some hills once you near the falls. I didn't see any restrooms even at the start, so do take that into account if you're hiking with children. But it's a very lovely well taken care of area."
"Beautiful hike. About 5 miles in and out. Lots of root systems. I'd call this a moderate hike, but not a hard hike by any means. There are places that can get steep, with stairs or rock steps, but doesn't last very a long distance. Views are worth this hike. We do wish the water had been flowing better. Still peaceful with our picnic on the rocks and our little dog."
"Hiking on a sunny August weekend with perfect weather. This trail is popular, so don't expect to have the trail to yourself. I would rate it Easy going in, and Easy/Moderate coming out. The falls are very tall, table tiered, and very unique. The water volume was low this day. Usually there is a bigger pool at the base. Total miles is a little over 3, and total walking time about 2hrs. Everyone out there was very nice. Highly recommend this one."
"The falls are simply incredible! And it's moderately easy to get to, about 3.5 miles round trip. You will cross the creek several times with the help of large enough stones, and old shoes are recommended as the trail tends to stay slightly muddy despite an absence of rain. Quite a few people were there when I went during the week, many with young children and dogs. A fair amount of parking is available by the trailheads and a pavillion is present as well."
"Great hike! Beautiful scenery and well maintained trail. There are some narrow places, and you have to keep an eye on the ground because there are a lot of tree roots and some slick spots but overall good trail. Make sure to wear shoes you won't mind getting wet. There are some creek areas you have to walk through. This trail is dog-friendly. The fall was amazing! I will definitely visit this trail again when I'm in the area!"
