Reviews of Brasstown Bald Visitors Center
"This is the tallest mountain in Georgia. Hubby and I did not hike to the top, but we will climb when the weather warms up. The center offers a shuttle from the visitors' center to the tower on top of the mountain. Or you can take the .06 mile steep hike. There's plenty of parking in the winter months, of course."
"Brasstown Bald is a great place to visit. The hike up to the viewing platform and museum is invigorating and beautiful. You can also ride the van up if you're not up to a short hike. The views from there are wonderful! Mr. Frank at the desk at the center was very informative and gave us some great tips on other places to visit as well as a great recommendation for a place for lunch. Definitely stop by if you get the chance!!"
"One of my favorite places to visit, it’s the highest pick of Georgia. Brasstown Bald provides spectacular 360 degree view of the mountains. The best time is to go during fall peak. Drive to visitor center & deck is simply mesmerizing. Some info - -Parking is free -If you want to take a shuttle to the top, it’s $7 per person. Kids are free. - You can also hike to the deck from parking lot; it’s around 1.5 miles but it’s little stiff may not be kid friendly. - There are multiple shuttles they keep taking trips. - Restrooms are available & maintained. - Do not skip visiting the center at deck, it has lot of natural preserves & information. Alert- if you are going peak fall season, be ready to wait in line for an hr or two in car just before entrance. But absolutely worth the visit!"
"Nice and clean place.. Fall colors were really very awesome and its a great deal to see from the top of the Georgias highest point.. kid friendly visitor center my kid liked the bear, deer displays and the train engine. Request to management, Please have additional pay stations or kiosks, we waited more than an hour to get entry."
"Amazing short hike! The views are spectacular!4,784 above sea level. The highest point in the state of Ga! If you can’t make the walk there is shuttle. We hiked it up and back down! We were fortunate enough to have come when they had a Raptor Show!"
