"Wow....what a horrible example of an organization who seemingly needs customers to sustain itself, but evidently doesn't care enough to service potential customers. I called the Myrtle Beach Farm Bureau office on behalf of my son who is in the military stationed outside the continental United States, and has property in North Myrtle Beach. My local Farm Bureau agent (whose insurance I personally have in North Carolina) had provided me with the Myrtle Beach office's contact information. I spoke with Rick, a very personable man, and provided very personal details (dob, ss#, etc) on my son, the property location, etc. After 5-20 minutes of conversation, he said he would provide this information to Clayllene Gore (and her husband, Kenny, who works with her) and they would back in touch with a quote for homeowners insurance, wind and hail, flood, etc. After 2+ weeks, after not hearing back, I called again and Rick answered the phone. I told him I had not heard anything from Clayllene (the Agent) and he was surprised and apologetic, but assured me that he would follow-up with Clayllene and I should expect to hear from her very soon. Again, he was very apologetic and actually seemed embarrassed that I had not received a return phone call. So it's now 6+ weeks later and still no follow-up, phone call, email, etc. If I could have give less than 1 Star rating I would have done so. It's hard to know how to rate an organization's delivery of service(s) when my son has never received any. Do not recommend."
"This is hands down THE most horrible insurance agency you will ever come into contact with. I have e-signed documents for 3 policies on a mfg home, golf cart, and car, yet I can find no evidence of the golf cart policy or the mfg home policy. I was told the mfg home policy was canceled because the agent "couldn't get a hold of me". When I questioned her about when that was, she back peddled and admitted she was lying and said she just found out about the cancellation that day herself. She said it was because they needed pics of the fence around the pool so I texted them to her right away and e-signed docs again to reinstate the policy which a few months later I cannot find any existance of and I have sent 3 emails asking about it over the last 2 months with no reply at all. I could be driving the golf cart uninsured - I have no idea. I could have contractors working at the mfg property and be uninsured -she absolutely does not care. She got angry that someone else at another office sent me a link in Jan. to update my card for auto billing because she said they like to do everything over the phone. I explained this isn't feasible to talk all the time for people who work and spend time with family after work. This must have offended her because she has not returned my calls or emails every since. The documents I e-signed have expired so I can't see all of them from Jan. and just bought a new house so obviously I'm not using these people! RUN AWAY! THIS IS THE WORST MOST TIME CONSUMING EXPERIENCE YOU WILL EVER HAVE WITH INSURANCE."
"After many years as a NC Farm Bureau customer, I continued coverage with this office in 2015. Bad idea. They are hard to reach, if they do return your call, they didn't listen to the vm message and aren't ready to talk. When I wanted to increase my homeowner insurance 2 years ago, I had to call Columbia after weeks of delays to get it done. On July 1st this year someone from Farm Bureau called and confirmed that Southern Fidelity was shutting down on the 15th and Farm Bureau would be sending me quotes for replacement homeowner insurance in a couple of days. They verified my email address. Five days later, I called and left a message with MB office inquiring about quotes. Several days later they called and said the quotes had been sent. Nothing was received. I called back and left vm message. Next day I received a call to verify my email address and was told that they didn't see where anything was sent to me but they would send it right away. Since I was going to be without homeowner insurance in less than a week, I knew I couldn't depend on Farm Bureau so I contacted a Dave Ramsey ELP and was given quotes on homeowners and auto insurance in less than a day. I never received any quotes from Farm Bureau but that is OK. I have more coverage at a cheaper rate, and now I have an insurance company that will provide better customer service."
"Responsiveness concerns - while I was pleased with insurance coverage until recently, I found it difficult to get timely reponses from the Myrtle Beach office. After repeated tries by phone, email and website during several weeks, I received a response that was past a deadline required for insurance. I went with a different local agency that got everything done quickly and in a courteous and attentive way."
"I called 3 days in a row and left messages for her to call me. I needed to add a rider for jewelry to my homeowners policy. I finally went in person and she had bo reason for not calling me back other than she had been busy. I owned a business for many years and if I had treated my customers like she does hers, I would not have had any. She promised to call me back after I have her my appraisals and that’s been 3 weeks ago. Never heard from her!(Finally heard from her assistant last Friday)Nov 5!"
