"Comprehensive Review of King's Law I recently engaged King's Law for a custody matter involving a family member, and while our overall experience was positive, there are crucial aspects I believe future clients should be aware of. To start with the positives, King's Law exhibited excellent communication when concerns arose, offering a clear path towards our custody goals and maintaining a focus on keeping all parties content. Their responsiveness, professionalism, compassion and initial cost estimate were noteworthy strengths. However, it's important to bring attention to a couple of considerations. We were quoted a $2500 retainer under the impression that our case wouldn't exceed $1800. Regrettably, the final cost surpassed the first 2 initial estimates by $2500, which was unexpected and a significant difference from other firms quoting $2800-$3500 for comprehensive services. I'd like to highlight in our case, we had an all-parties consented change of custody due to a family illness. We are also having to hire another firm to handle an issue that was said would be handled with our case. This was also reiterated at our 1 only hearing by our attorney. Understanding that our case was unique, it serves as a benchmark for potential clients to gauge what a more extended legal battle might cost. This transparency is vital, considering the potential financial strain on families involved in prolonged custody disputes. In conclusion, King's Law played a pivotal role in securing the custody change, and we appreciate their expertise. However, I believe future clients deserve a transparent understanding of potential costs to make informed decisions. "Unfortunately, I had a less than satisfactory experience with King Law. When I first approached them in the paid consultation regarding my legal matter, I was given hope of an easy win along estimated price which I believed to be reasonable and within my budget. After the case being handled quickly on the first hearing and having no unforeseen circumstances, however, the costs began to skyrocket, ultimately culminating in a final bill that was almost double the original estimate. I reached out to the customer service department with my concerns and was told all of the charges and times billed were accurate. Such discrepancies in billing are not just a matter of inconvenience – they severely strain trust and make it difficult to budget and plan financially. It's crucial for a law firm to maintain transparency and communicate any potential increases in costs, and in this respect, King Law deeply disappointed. To make matters worse, despite the escalating costs, the firm did not achieve the outcome I was hoping for and I could have easily achieved the same or possibly a better outcome had I represented myself. This combination of unexpected costs and unsatisfactory results has left me feeling taken advantage of. I genuinely hope others have better experiences, but I felt it was important to share mine so potential clients are aware and can make an informed decision."
