"Couldn’t see many people at this point, parking easily available, nicely marked spots, few mins walk and then there are few stairs to take."

"This is a very easy hike. The stairs on the way back are not great but I stopped every 10 steps and it was easy. Definitely worth seeing and check out the falls while you are there. On the trail I also saw a baby dear very cute"

"The Tory’s Den cave and waterfall are off of Charlie Young Road, which is most easily reached by leaving the main entrance to Hanging Rock State Park and taking Moore’s Spring Road to Mickey Road and then Charlie Young. It’s about three miles. From the parking lot there, the trail is only 0.2 of a mile. A second option from within the park is the Tory’s Den Trail, a 2.7-mile moderate spur off of the Moore’s Wall Loop Trail at Huckleberry Ridge, which is a hike of not quite 5 miles one way. The story of Tory’s Den is that Redcoats used it as a hideout during the Revolutionary War, but their campfires were spotted at night and they were quickly routed. It’s a small cave, which you pass by on the way to the waterfall. Just a few yards beyond the cave, the waterfall can be seen from a ledge. You can move around on the ledge to get a little bit of a better view, but there’s not really a good – or worthwhile – way to get closer. Be careful! Fun time, easy hike and overall pretty scenery."

"Upon arrival there was plenty of parking. Besides make it very clear of which direction you want to go for which site you want to see, either the waterfall or the den. There are a lot of steps that go down the mountain to the den and the waterfall I lost count of the steps on the way back up at 200. Really clean area and fun to visit."

"Trail to the cave was well marked and maintained. Short hike was scenic. The cave itself was not deep but probably enough to shelter a dozen people. Historically it was well positioned so that it cannot be easily approached by any attackers. Well worth a visit."
