"So much fun! It was a great experience. Gradual descent with some flat parts. Not strenuous at all. We did the 17 mile portion from White-Top to Damascus. Beautiful scenery. Will be talking about this trail for a while."
"Had the most lovely experience on the Virginia Creeper Trail riding our bikes. Will definitely make this a yearly event each fall and bring family along next time!"
"This was an absolute magic trip. So easy to get to the top with the shuttle. The first 16 miles from White Top station are downhill, then flat into Demascus. We had a great lunch and finished the slow climb to Abingdon. We will definitely do this again. It's just perfect."
"I ran while my husband biked with our kids from Whitetop to Damascus. I knew people loved to bike on this trail but I really was surprised to see that I was literally the only person on foot. It's a beautiful trail with lots of places to pull over and jump in the water, a couple of cafés along it, and Appalachian trail crossings. Also loved that there was a bathroom at the parking in whitetop as well as bathrooms occasionally along the trail!! And the route starting at Whitetop and ending in Damascus is 17 miles completely downhill (truly like 1500 ft elevation loss with only 24 ft elevation gain). I'd like to come back on a weekend that's less busy (we came over labor day weekend) because I really did love the trail but it gets congested with narrow paths every now and then and with a lot of visitors who don't call out "on your left" when passing. Also, there is no service for most of the trial so plan accordingly if you split up with your group."
"Best trail to bike for everyone to have a good day! Saw people of all ages out on the trail. If you’re looking for an easy ride where you can easily coast the whole time this is it. There are beautiful bridges along the whole trail and you are surrounded by stunning scenery the whole ride. There are also places along the trail to stop and take a break or grab something to eat."
