"**Update - the mornings are way better in so many ways, I am telling you the place itself is held to a much higher standard during the day, by evening it goes downhill and 0 employees do anything besides camp behind the desk ** It’s a hit or miss here. Been a member for almost a year now and this review is overdue Positives include that the majority of the equipment is working. The machines are all matching and functional the majority of time. The pool is clean 75% of the time and open the entire gym hours. Recommend that you avoid going to the pool from 3-7pm on weekdays & lunch hours during the weekend since there are swim lessons for kids and teens being taught here The sauna is a huge plus. Most of the males are respectful in the men’s section. You only catch a couple dudes who are far too invested in themselves by taking mirror selfies once in awhile. Partly due to the fact that you don’t include a giant mirror in the men’s locker room which is a huge bonus. Onto the not so good parts. You can see people sneaking in their kids into the gym. You will notice the gym is extremely dirty at the end of the night. Some of the gym employees are very nice but don’t keep up on the policies. I’m annoyed that the jacuzzi stays out of order most of the week & the sanitation areas are not restocked frequently. I am glad we hardly see shirtless dudes grunting around but it happens from time to time and I find that unsettling. You’ll also get a customer who wears a sauna costume and uses the equipment in the most incorrect manner. Embarrassing and just flat out awkward… The best part of this location is that its typically clean and well ran during their peak hours. It’s just as the day progresses they do little on upkeep. This location is the better gym in the area by far. The staff are generally nice and smile when you enter which is a huge plus. Fix a couple little issues and enforce policies and this will set your gym apart from everyone else. I have very high standards with clean facilities and good staff that makes a comfortable experience for others and would hope LA Fitness feels the same way"
"I have been a member for a year. I changed from the YMCA because of the price, but also I wanted an adult only facility. I use the pool regularly and enjoyed the quiet until the management signed an agreement with the British Swimming School who uses the pool 4 times a week: 2 nights a week and both weekend days during prime time. The pool is full of kids in 1-2 lanes with one lane open for adult members which requires sharing lanes with 1-2 other swimmers. Parents line the benches and there is no place for personal towels/shoes when entering the pool. Gone is the quiet and adult only environment I expected. Fitness classes are limited. There is one excellent yoga teacher, but the other yoga teacher is fitness trained and her classes, while nice are gentle exercise stretches using yoga movements but without a deeper understanding of the practice."
"Update on 10/8/23 to my original post from June: Changed from 3 stars to 2 stars (only because 1.5 stars is not an option). Honestly, the housekeeping is, and has been, sub-par. I'd like to be objective and give the staff the benefit of the doubt. However, based on my personal observations, the associates who are tasked with maintaining the upkeep of the locker rooms, sauna, and showers are, well, inept and lazy. All three toilet stalls were lacking the single-use toilet seat protective covers on a recent weekday visit. Today (Sunday), all three were lacking any toilet paper. Additionally, there was trash and debris everywhere, the sauna and jacuzzi look totally gross, the two trash cans were overfilled with litter (a common sight), and the showers are far from appearing sanitary. One has been missing its soap dispenser for a while. Refer to uploaded pics. Original post from June: Decent gym, solid three stars, maybe 3.5 on a good day. It definitely is Not a 4 or 5 star gym. Not for someone who trains and is a serious lifter. Not the most efficient use of floor space. More squat racks, please! Weight room could be bigger, too. My impression is they're catering to a specific, you could say, more mature demographic. No basketball or racquetball courts. Dumbells increment every 2.5 lbs., which is a plus. The sauna is nice, but it is obvious that a daily hose down is not happening. And there are already (new 2023 gym) build issues with the sauna's woodwork. Men's locker room is spacious with decently large lockers."
"I had an outstanding experience at this gym managed by Jazzy. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gym is well-maintained and clean, with a wide range of equipment to suit all fitness levels. Jazzy's leadership ensures a welcoming and motivating atmosphere. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to achieve their fitness goals."
"Review is based on the facility tour and equipment. I have not been able to utilize it as of yet. There is a heated indoor pool with entry assistance seat. The locker room, shower and toilet stalls were ample and well stocked. One toilet was not clean but everything else was neat and in good condition. Dry sauna and spa whirlpool also seemed inviting. There is a kids room, Group fitness studio and a Cycling studio. The personal training zone is open for anyone to use so long as PT is not using it for a session. It includes Battle Ropes, Trx System, Plyo Boxes Weighted Sled, Bosu Balls and a stretching area. I noticed vending machines and a traditional water fountain. Although I wish the water fountain was a filtered water station for refilling my own bottle. There is plenty of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers, bikes and rowing machines. The Free weights section is spacious and the Dumbbells go up to about 110Lbs. If you’re hot natured like me, you’ll appreciate the many fans and cool temperatures. I’m grateful to have a gym with these amenities on this side of town. We deserve it! Thank you Solomon for being so helpful. Get your membership with him because he explains everything so well."
