Reviews of The Guys Place A Hair Salon for Men
"Hair cut was really good. Neck shave was really good. My stylist was not trained on a facial shave, so I was a little let down I couldn’t get one. Otherwise, really good! Nice environment."
"I was fortunate enough to walk in when I did, and Gloria was straightening her station, and she immediately came to greet me at the register. As a bonus, I got the best haircut I have had in a while, when I needed it most. I will be back."
"I've been seeing Yolanda at The Guys Place Brier Creek for a few years now and she is just about the most perfect stylist you could ask for. I am pleased to recommend her."
"great haircut ! awesome services! Brooke was amazing, she did everything I asked for and more! Super friendly staff and manager ... complimentary coffee and warm towels cannot hurt.. Definitely coming back"
"I hate to do this, but I just came out with hands-down the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life. I asked for a trim on the top from several inches of hair and was left with a less than half an inch that’s wildly uneven. I asked for a fade on the sides and there is clearly no fade and missed spots all over. The neckline, which was supposed to be squared, is a notched wave akin to an upside-down v. There’s now a bald spot in the middle of the back of my head. It makes sense why it wasn’t shown to me before I was ushered out. To top this all off, much of the haircut felt like my hair was being physically ripped out of my head. On a positive note, the haircut was quick, but this isn’t nearly enough to make up for just how bad the haircut is and just how egregious the problems with it are. I’m sure the shop will offer to fix it, but unless they can put extensions on half an inch of hair or transplant hair to the empty spots in the back, there’s no recovering from this. I will be wearing a hat for the next several months until it’s grown out enough for someone else to salvage it. Edit: To answer your question as to why I didn't speak with the stylist about the haircut before leaving: the only part I knew was wrong at that point was how short the top was cut. As I said, I wasn't shown the full scope of the haircut before leaving. And what would have been done about it at that point? Glued it back on? Once any of the top has been cut too short it's frankly too late. Any decent stylist I've had in the past has confirmed I'm okay with the length before cutting. The back I didn't notice until my wife pointed it out later, saying, "You're not going to want to hear this, but the back is actually worse." She was right. The sides I didn't have a chance to inspect until I got home later. You keep putting the onus on the customer to let the stylist know they aren't satisfied before leaving, but the -stylist- should absolutely not have been satisfied with how they left my hair. In one response to a negative review, you literally blamed a child for not speaking up. I just want you to know, your patronizing replies to that and other negative reviews tipped me over the edge to leaving this review. This is the first negative review I've ever left in my life, and you've proven more than deserving. I get that you're frustrated, but imagine you walked in for a trim and the stylist cut all your hair off, and did a bad job of it at that. Would you not be frustrated? It'll be half a year before my hair is grown out to where it should have been left today. But if you'd like to continue to be patronizing to me and other customers, I'm more than willing to upload photos of the absolute hackjob that was done to my head today to get everyone's thoughts on whether or not I should've had to speak up to the stylist or they should've just done a better job."
