"Huge disappointment. I'm switching to Genoa Pharmarcy. I've got to be pretty disappointed (or thrilled) to bother writing a review. I was excited on moving to Asheville to switch from Walgreens (horrible service) to an independent pharmacy with good reviews. When my Doctor sent in my prescriptions I never received a call from the pharmacy - ok, no big deal, I'll follow up. Spoke to a nice lady who said they didn't receive them and she'd call my Dr's office to sort it out. 5 days later no word so I called again. Spoke to a very nice lady who said she'd take down all my information and make sure someone called me Monday. Monday passes plus another 5 days so I give it one more shot and ask to speak to the pharmacist. Rather than apologize for the lack of action and communication she said "well you wouldn't have gotten a call if we didn't hear anything from your Doctor, we'd just be waiting". Meanwhile I burned 2 weeks because of their lack of communication. I then found out they are one of those pharmacies with a policy of not filling prescriptions for controlled substances if your Doctor is out of state - if the first woman had bothered to mention that on the phone I could have saved 2 weeks there too. I've since switched to Genoa Pharmacy and so far they seem really on the ball."

"Asheville Discount Pharmacy is absolutely the best pharmacy you'll find anywhere. This is a wonderful family-owned business located downtown. The pharmacist takes the time to get to know everyone who comes in, so as a customer you really feel cared for and like your needs matter. She has consulted with me by phone on several occasions, making sure my questions are answered and offering me expert guidance, as well as helping me understand my best options with what my insurance would cover. I visited recently with my young son who was upset and in pain and the pharmacist took the time to try to make him feel better. I can't imagine receiving that kind of attention from a chain pharmacy. We appreciate it so much!"
