"We finally made it to the New York Butcher Shoppe and first experience is great! Store is nice and has great selection of meat and incredible sides. Some specialty items too - duck fat, rabbit, pheasant, elk… We came for a sandwich and ended up with wine, hot dogs and other stuff. Our Tampa hot pressed sandwich is loaded with meat and tastes great and come with a bag of chips. One of the highest quality sandwich in Asheville! Hope you can have another branch in North Asheville! But we will be back for sure!"

"Went back and forth, trying to decide whether to give this place 5 stars or 1 star. Let me get the good out of the way. This place has the best choices. Literally everything they have is great. Their pecan burgers are simply the best burgers I’ve ever had. My son, who is 8, called them the best burgers ever before I even had a chance to take a bite, or ask him what he thought. He just blurted it out and after he took a bite, and he wasn’t exaggerating. Seriously, they are THAT good. This place is now our go to for our dinners. I haven’t had a chance to try their side dishes, but looking forward to doing so. Their scallops are massive and absolutely delicious. Now for the bad….This place will ruin you from being able to go to Ingles or Publix and just grab any steak or burger. We’ve tried, and we can’t. So for that, they now force us to make two stops for dinner. One for produce and all our grocery needs, and the other for our protein main dishes. The quality of meat from the New York Butcher Shoppe is just so far above, that even a child can immediately tell the difference. The price they charge is well worth it, because their selections are superior. The customer service is always top notch as well. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!"

"SNAPSHOT = the bar has been raised substantially in.the Asheville area with a welcomed new arrival - details below. Meats, seafood, sides and more! All of it looks to be of excellent quality. Can't wait to try more. Our first visit, we got sausage for grilling. Excellent. We brought home a Prime Rib sandwich (that day's special) to try and all 3 of us thought it was great. We went back the next day because we had forgotten to get steak. Prime NY Strip grilled flawlessly and was delicious. Reason we forgot steak was because I got into an extended conversation with Anthony that day. Fantastic guy who has lots of experience as a butchet. More importantly, he has a genuine passion for serving customers the highest quality old world butcher shoppe foodstuffs. Anthony made a point of stating that they are still trying to determine product mix for the Asheville area. He wants to assess the demand for individual offerings. So, if there is something you want and don't see, please ask. The store has nooks and crannies all stuffed with treasures to discover. That means we will keep exploring. Hope you will too!"
